By working with the Snowbasin Race Team, I have also learned about the technique of keeping your hands in front of yourself. Keeping your hands in front of yourself is crucial, it helps you be in control of your skis, have an athletic stance, and be confident. If you don't keep your hands in front of you, it causes your center of gravity to move back. This can force you into the backseat, making you have less control of your skis which can lead to injury. Check out this article that explains this technique: https://lnkd.in/gdq9BsvJ

How to improve butterly style. The primary objective is the undulation of the body, starting from the head and ending with the movement of the pelvis and then the legs. Then we add the arm stroke, remembering that the head leads the exit and entry of the arms from the water. The ultimate goal of the dolphin is to swim it as close to the water's surface as possible. #WPSmethodology #swimmingcoach #swimmingtraining

I help swimming coaches build race-winning skills in a systematic manner. Follow for posts about how to develop the most important skills as quickly and easily as possible.
The most powerful underwater kick isn’t going to do a whole lot if swimmers are creating a ton of resistance. Poor streamlining, spinal position that’s all over the place, and kicks that are too big are all going to kill speed. If swimmers can keep everything tight while still kicking hard and fast, they’re going to go FAST. For more on the critical skill of alignment and eliminating resistance, check out the article linked below.

Have you heard of James Clear's rudder and oars metaphor for goal setting? Imagine a rowing boat. Your goal is the rudder on the boat. It sets the direction and determines where you go. If you commit to one goal, then the rudder stays put, and you continue moving forward. If you flip-flop between goals, then the rudder moves all around, and it is easy to find yourself going in circles. Now, let's talk about the oars. They are another crucial part of the boat, even more important than the rudder, because they are what keep you moving Are both of these working on your boat? Are you a drift or going in circles?
