Hola folks!! To all the Cloud ethusiast ever wonder when and how the organisations move ( or we can also call it migration) their applications from on-premises environment to cloud. Well on AWS Cloud environment, we follow the 6'R migration strategies , this strategies help us to plan the process and tackle the challenges. So here are the 6'R : 1) Rehosting : This is scenario of large-legacy migration,in which the company is looking to implement its migration and scale quickly to meet a business case, the majority of applications are rehosted. 2) Replatforming : It is just like rehosting, but it involves making a few cloud optimizations. 3) Refactoring : It aslo know as re-architecting that involves reimagining how an application is architected and developed by using cloud-native features. 4) Repurchasing : Let me explain you with a example : a business might choose to implement the repurchasing strategy by migrating from a customer relationship management (CRM) system to Salesforce. 5) Retaining : This include applications that require major *refactoring* before they can be migrated, or, work that can be postponed until a later time. 6) Retiring : This is the process of removing applications that are no longer needed. This helps to to focus the new value of the applications. That's the 6'R, and this strategy is not followed by other cloud providers, they follow there own rules of migration.
