As one of the Nigerian students, I joined others on a 7-day campaign to donate a pen to Mr President. This campaign seeks to urge the President, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to assent to the Sexual Harassment in Tertiary Educational Institutions Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal Bill which has lingered on his desk for a while. The cases of sexual harassment especially within the learning environment that has been coming lately can not be overlooked again and that's why we are looking forward to the law that will fight against this. Mr President shouldn't ignore our pleads because this is the only way we can: - Have a safer and more welcoming learning environment. - Prevent long-term negative consequences of sexual harassment. - Protect students from being targeted by their peers, teachers, or other adults in the school community. - Help to prevent bullying and create a more inclusive school environment. It's been a long time since we've been making our requests about this cause and we can never withdraw until we see the result.
