🔑 Knowledge is key 🔑 With decades of expertise in plant nutrition and continuous innovation, sharing our knowledge and skills is a responsibility we take seriously. We recently welcomed turf managers to Parkstad Limburg Stadium, home to the Dutch football club Roda JC, for an insightful half-day turf management seminar. Dr. Andy Owen, ICL's International Technical Manager for Turf & Landscape, led the event and shared his insights with the group. Check out ICL's Knowledge Hub for relevant topics on turf management and more! 🔗 Link in the comments 👇 #Turf #Knowledge #Research #Seminar #TurfManagers #Sustainable #TurfManagement #RodaJC #Partnership

At times we are to modest about the great sustainability initiatives that our CGI colleagues are involved in, like the role in Stichting Samen Circulair Heerenveen. Typical Frisian to be down to earth about it, but so worthwhile to repost #CGI #Localcommunity #Sustainability
'If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together!' This saying certainly applies to our collaboration with Stichting Samen Circulair Heerenveen, a unique initiative of the local business community and sc Heerenveen. Under the motto that sport connects and activates, as Act Sports (part of Beaulieu International Group) we are proud of this collaboration and take up the challenge, together with the partners within Stichting Samen Circulair Heerenveen, to develop an artificial turf football pitch which will completely be based on the recycling principle through the reuse of old artificial grass fields. Great developments ahead of us!

Founder & Director, Reground | 2024 Westpac Social Change Fellow | Co-founder of Circuiti - the Circular Economy Exchange | Creating a socially just circular economy
Question: What does the Formula 1 Grand Prix have in common with the Northcote Local Food Garden - a communal permaculture patch in Melbourne's inner north? Answer: Not much, until this year. Back in March, the Reground team worked with Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix to collect all of the ground coffee from the event and deliver it to NLFG, located not far from Reground HQ in Darebin City Council. At the Food Garden, Kerrie and the other volunteers are now using the ground coffee to create perfectly calibrated compost and prepare the garden for autumn planting. When we say we're turning waste into a resource, this is what we mean. The ground coffee that event organisers would otherwise have paid high fees to send to #landfill is instead helping nourish soil and grow #community right here in Melbourne. It's simple, it's local and it works.

𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 Not many words are needed for our cooperation. 'It all runs smoothly and that is a good sign.' says Robert Peffer from Prochamp B.V. To be in control of their own production chain is the common denominator for both Legro and Prochamp when running the businesses. Curious? Check out the 7th of 12 stories, which we will share describing what makes Legro as it is today, Down to Earth. Link: https://lnkd.in/eNrf-G5G (Also available in English)

This past Sunday marked the kickoff of a powerful new movement by Voedselpark Amsterdam and Behoud Lutkemeer with the launch of our new campaign, 'Red ons groen!' A great turnout of over 50 loyal supporters, both familiar faces and new additions, joined us for an action-packed afternoon where we brainstormed plans to preserve the Lutkemeerpolder. Why is it crucial? Well, the fate of the Lutkemeerpolder, Amsterdam's last fertile agricultural land, hangs in the balance in 2024. Proptimize, a property developer, is set to commence construction of the city's largest distribution center (7 football fields) by the end of Q1. The municipal council also has the partial revision of the zoning plan on their agenda. It's a now-or-never moment for the preservation of the Lutkemeerpolder. Voedselpark Amsterdam and Behoud Lutkemeer, with the support of numerous partners, proudly unveil the 'Red ons groen' campaign. This initiative aims to send a resounding message to real estate developers and the Amsterdam city government, challenging their plans to construct massive distribution centers in the city's lowest polder (-5 m NAP). 🌍 The call to action: Voedselpark Amsterdam and Behoud Lutkemeer, along with the backing of engaged citizens and organizations, urge everyone who desires more green and less grey in the city to support the campaign. Visit www.redonsgroen.nl to join the cause. Our goal is to gather a minimum of 100,000 declarations of support in Q1, aiming for the withdrawal of real estate developers. Be part of the movement! #RedonsGroen 💚

THERE IS NOTHING FISHY ABOUT TECH We need a Norwegian export council for tech, based on the recipe from the Norwegian seafood industry, which has its own export council. In short, that was my message to Jan Christian Vestre, Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, when I met him a few weeks back along with other founders. That advice has now been picked up by Shifter.no, a leading voice in Norway’s tech scene, and here is their story. While their coverage is in Norwegian, the message is universal: strong government support can be a game-changer for international expansion. Last week Vestre was appointed Norway’s new Minister of Health and Wellness, handing over his old department of Trade and Industry to Cecilie Myrseth. This doesn’t change anything, because regardless of who’s in office, the biggest challenge for any company going international is to open doors, and challenge number two is to be seen as a solid player. If you have Norway on your team, it strengthens your business. And equally important: The Norwegian population is one of the most tech-savvy in the world and adapts to digitalisation at a higher-than-average rate. This makes Norway a perfect sandbox for innovation that can be taken out globally. One of my key takeaways in the Shifter interview is that TicketCo went abroad a little too late. “We should have done it faster because we're selling business-to-business software. Norway was too small a market for us,” is one of my quotes. Another one reads like this: "I moved to London for a couple of years. Investor Henrik Lie-Nielsen said to me in an investor meeting – "I will not invest a penny unless Carl moves to London." I then made the decision in 30 seconds, moving away from my wife and two kids. They stayed in Bergen, whilst I commuted.” That was then, and this is now. TicketCo’s day-to-day life in the UK is in very good hands with David Kenny and the team. We’re doing great both in the UK and in our other markets, but we’re still at the start of our journey. Hopefully, we can be supported by the Norwegian Tech Council soon. It just needs to be established first. The Norwegian Seafood Export Council was established in 1991, established by the parliament and authorised by the Fisheries Export Act. In 2012, it changed its name to the Norwegian Seafood Council. It is owned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, and is financed by a statutory market tax on all exports of fish and seafood. 85 people work for the Norwegian Seafood Council. That is 85 people who is working non stop for global success. #tech #fish #norway

👀 reading tip! “Small animal, big business'' | In DUTCH. "It was a period of pioneering and persevering. Battling against legislation, developing technology, and opening markets. And now, we're kicking it up a notch." Read more (in Dutch) in Belgian business news paper De Tijd about the growing market for insect ingredients and specifically the black soldier fly and the leading position of Protix. 👇 Great article by Jan De Schamphelaere https://lnkd.in/eiM8DFMw
