We were delighted to welcome leaders from British Columbia's innovation ecosystem at a special reception hosted by our Board of Directors in Vancouver yesterday. It was inspiring to see stakeholders from various sectors come together, share ideas, and drive collaborations to propel #innovation. A special thanks to the Honourable Brenda Bailey , BC Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation, for joining us and highlighting the importance of work-integrated learning in advancing innovation. "Work-integrated learning creates crucial opportunities for students and businesses to connect through paid internships and breaks down barriers. Mitacs plays a vital role in this ecosystem," Minister Bailey said in her remarks. We're also grateful to Elizabeth Dobrzanski, a Mitacs intern at Plantee Bioplastics Inc., who shared her project with our guests, and to Mitacs partners Avestec, JDQ Systems Inc, Anodyne Chemistries, TreeTrack, and Dream Photonics Inc. for demonstrating their innovations. We're proud to champion these efforts. 🎉 #networking #BCInnovation #Mitacs #WorkIntegratedLearning #StrongerBC #MitacsImpact John Hepburn Rajat Sharma, CPA Philippe Gervais, ICD.D, IAS.A UBC Engineering The University of British Columbia Government of British Columbia

Exciting times!
After 5 great years at the Research Universities Council of BC I will retire at the end of September. Looking forward to more flexible hours and pursuit of many passions. Fish in BC should be afraid :-)
4moIt was great to attend this celebration of the combined work of government, the private sector and our post-secondary institutions. Minister Bailey really captured the vitality and importance of this collaboration, and the promise it holds for future prosperity of the province and country. Thank you!
