Today marks two incredible years at Toro Aluminum Group, and what wild ride ! Reflecting on this journey of growth and accomplishment, I’m filled with gratitude, pride, and maybe a few gray hairs. In these two years, with my fantastic team, I've: Managed the service of 12 buildings (23 residential floors and 3 commercial/CW scope on average), and I’ve got 2 more buildings in the pipeline. Ensured average response time to service requests is under 24 hours (coffee helps!). Completed 90% of requests within 7 days. Maintained a first-time fix rate of about 70%. Achieved 100% customer and stakeholder satisfaction (they love me, I hope they really do!). Kept techs 100% utilized and compliant with HS&E standards. These achievements symbolize countless hours of dedication, problem-solving, and a few "why me?" moments. Each project has pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. The challenges faced have only fueled my passion for this work. In the coming years, my goals are to improve response times, enhance first-time fix rates, strengthen customer relationships, improve on my communication and coordination.

Company Culture is KEY! I know I’m not the first person to make this statement. There are many books on the subject and it is common to find leadership courses that teach it. I’m a big believer in it. It’s less common though to find examples of it being taken seriously by companies, practicing what they preach. Not just talking the talk but actually walking the walk. So it makes me very happy when I find myself at a company that does get it.

We celebrate Terje Dyrseth: 48 years at Brunvoll! 🎉 We mark the end of an era as Terje Dyrseth retires after nearly five decades at Brunvoll. Terje has been a key figure in the company's success story, an invaluable resource, and an inspiration to us all. ❓ How did your career at Brunvoll actually start, Terje? Why did you choose Brunvoll back then? 👨🏻🔧 What happened was that I married a girl from Molde while I was in the Navy and living in Bergen. In 1975, I was working on training technical personnel on submarines, a job I enjoyed very much. We visited Molde to celebrate May 17th in 1975 and met Ottar Brunvoll by chance. He asked me if I wanted to move to Molde and work with him, and when I said no, he spent the entire summer persuading me until he got his way. I started as a sales engineer that fall. ❓ What are the highlights of your nearly 50 years at Brunvoll? 👨🏻🔧 It's impossible to single out highlights because there have been so many. However, I especially remember my significant projects as a sales manager, which set the standard for future assignments in segments like marine vessels and cruise ships. In 1997, when I was marketing manager, one of our sales engineers sold the idea of a retractable tunnel thruster to Statoil Shipping, which we didn't really know how to make, and then he came to me afterwards to ask how we should solve that puzzle. Together with skilled engineers, we figured it out! There has always been an optimistic innovation attitude with us – we've never done it before, so we can surely manage it, a bit of a Pippi Longstocking attitude. Moving the Brunvoll factory from downtown Molde to the new buildings at Årø and the construction of the Brunvoll quarter has also been very fun. These construction projects have created some Brunvoll footprints in Molde that I'm very proud to have participated in. ❓ If you look into the crystal ball, what do you think Brunvoll can expect in future years? 👨🏻🔧 It's tough to predict, but we know what we're doing, and everything has been done right so far. Focusing on dynamic positioning and automation will be incredibly important for us moving forward. The Brunvoll ship is a real armoured ship, and we have good steering speed ahead. This month marks my 6-year anniversary at Caterpillar, and to celebrate, I’m sharing this nostalgic photo of me from the mid-to-late 80s. It’s a moment from a Cat demo with my grandpa, a proud “Cat lifer” who worked his way from the proving grounds to sales to legal. 🚜 But beyond the photo, I want to share a message about the power of owning your own journey—of being who you want, when you want, and where you want. I made a significant career change in my mid-30s, leaving a nearly decade-long sales career with a nice salary and bonuses to start over in marketing. I took a massive pay cut to make it happen, even working two part-time jobs to bridge the gap. That leap ultimately led me to Caterpillar just a few years later. When I left sales, “they” said it was a mistake. “They” said I’d only ever be reviewing ad copy. 🤷🏼♀️ Well, here I am today, reviewing ad copy…and crafting global campaign strategies and leading a team of regional marketing experts and serving on an Enterprise governance team as the proud Program Lead for Cat Construction’s global Centennial celebration campaign - all while kicking butt in my “day” job as a Senior Marketing Consultant for Construction Technologies. The takeaway? Don’t let others define your path. I’m driven by something inside me that pushes me to constantly strive for the next challenge—which both excites and terrifies me! My hope is that you’ll tap into that same drive and go after what you want. It might be tough. It might involve sacrifices. But for me at least, it will always be worth it. Introducing.... Name: Eddy Carey Position: Manufacturing Team Lead 1.      What initially attracted you to join our team? What attracted me to join Terex was not only its reputation both locally and globally, but also how people I’d known from youth had joined and spoken very highly of Terex and went on to be very successful and key players in Terex’s success. 2.      What is your role in the team and what do you enjoy most about it? I am the Manufacturing team lead in Farlough and the thing that I enjoy most about my role is working with a very close-knit team, and together, taking on and overcoming the challenges we face on a daily basis.   3.      Can you share a memorable team achievement or success story that you were a part of? One of the most memorable success stories that I was a part of was the American launch of the AggreSand in North Carolina. From the planning to the execution, meeting and working with a diverse group of people and ultimately celebrating the success together, it was definitely one of the highlights of my career in Terex.     4.      Can you share an interesting fact or detail about yourself we might not know about you? I started playing the guitar a few years ago after spending years wishing that I knew how. Not sure if I felt that life began at 40 or if I was having a mid-life crisis. It’s definitely not as easy as the pros make it look! 5.      What is your favourite thing to do? I love watching football and rugby and listening to music and podcasts. I’ve followed Juventus for 30 years and days out in Dublin at Ireland rugby games are always brilliant. When it comes to music, those who know me would know that I’m a huge Bruce Springsteen fan! But above all else my favourite thing to do is spending time with my children.   6.      Can you share a favourite travel destination or a place you'd love to visit someday? As a favourite holiday destination, it’s difficult to choose between America and Italy. 2 fantastic countries for very different reasons. New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Indonesia are all on the bucket list to visit someday.   7.      Do you have a favourite quote or mantra that inspires you? “It always seems impossible until it's done.”   8.      What are you career aspirations at Terex? In nearly 22 years I’ve held many positions in Terex. As to what happens next only time will tell! In my own experience, and something that I’ve spoken to many new team members about over the years, is that if you are looking to develop your skill set and further your career within Terex, the opportunities, encouragement and support are there to do so!
