Meet Shaquinta Houston, a determined participant in Glendale's THRIVE program, dedicated to achieving self-sufficiency. Shaquinta joined THRIVE with ambitious goals: finding meaningful employment, saving for her future, and earning her GED through online classes at Rio Salado College. Despite challenges like limited access to transportation, she persisted, in utilizing public library computers. Recently, Shaquinta received a generous donation from Trellis—a laptop. This gift is more than just a device; it catalyzes her success. With her new laptop, Shaquinta can now study for her GED, search for job opportunities, and work towards becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. "I really appreciate the laptop," Shaquinta shares gratefully. "It will make it so much easier for me to work on my GED class and find a job." Join us in celebrating Shaquinta's determination and success. Together, we can empower more individuals like her to thrive! If 4-H Canada is to survive it needs to improve it's value proposition, not rely on charity. Canada's ranchers require new skills and tools to address the challenges, and opportunity, presented by traceability, sustainability, and digital and genomics enabled solutions. Canada's youth, through 4-H, should be leading the acquisition of these skills and tools. This is the forgotten purpose of 4-H; engage agriculture's youth to acquire, and then extend to their families, the skills required to improve practice. At Flokk Systems Inc. we have been trying for years to engage others in this vision. We are prepared to provide the required technology at cost. What we lack is partners to provide the capital and 4-H resources. I will fully commit my company to supporting a 4-H Canada that enables Canada's rural youth to lead Canadian ranchers being global leaders in technology utilization and sustainability. I am not prepared to contribute anything to a 4-H Canada that, to my experience to date, is unwilling to engage with ideas or individuals outside their legacy communities and programming. I remain eager to engage with those sincerely interested in exploring this proposal. Curtis Grainger RJ Sigurdson Kim McConnell Bill Whitelaw
Tomorrow needs 4-H. Today, 4-H needs you. You can help 4-H Canada continue to deliver world-class youth programs that build skills, confidence and leadership. FCC will match donations up to $50,000. Make your donation now. https://lnkd.in/grcB2WWG

Nonprofit Solutions 4 organizations: strategic planning, leadership training, & annual giving fundraising best practices. Cost effective donor engagement & web-based fund development system 4 year-end direct mail.
Annual Giving: March Week One Fundraising and Story are intertwined. You can't have a good annual giving fundraising program without story. Here is the formula you should use to think about story. - The Community has a Problem - Your Organization has a Solution - The only way to Implement is with Donor Gifts Community Problem- Organization Solution- Donor Gifts to implement. To identify the Community Problem that your organization addresses- look to the vision statement. Chances are pretty good that the problem your organization is solving is the opposite of your vision. Your Organization Solution is the programs you run to address the problem. Now you need to combine this into a story. To begin this process, you need to grab a notebook and go sit in a high traffic area of your organization. Use the notebook to write down what you observe. These notes are going to form the foundation of your story. You will use the story two ways: 1) To Report: this is what you did in your impact piece. You reported back to donors about the impact their gifts made: you offered proof that your organization implemented a solution towards solving a community problem. 2) Discuss the Future: this is showing what could happen, in the future, with additional gifts to the organization. Maybe you can start a new program, expand a current offering, or maybe you just need to keep doing what you are doing. Think about your notes. Think about the impact your organization is making. The Future Impact Story is going to become the foundation of your annual giving case for support. It will power your appeal letters. Let me know what you learn about your organization. I would love to hear about the notes you took. We are digging deep. This is important work. Stick with it, getting a good story will make a huge difference in your annual giving program.

Providing nonprofit capacity-building including grants management and program development for health/human services, economic development and senior services organizations.
I am deeply honored to be recognized by Social Work Today, a national newsmagazine, in their article highlighting social workers who have founded their own nonprofits. This recognition underscores the importance of our mission at the Alliance for Nonprofits. Before founding the Alliance for Nonprofits, we diligently sought advice from a broad spectrum of community leaders, public sector administrators, funding sources, and nonprofit managers. Our goal was to identify the unmet needs and service gaps within our community. Through this comprehensive consultation, it became evident that while numerous organizations were striving to serve the community, they were often constrained by limited resources that hindered their efficiency and capacity. In response, we established the Alliance for Nonprofits to focus on capacity-building for nonprofit organizations. Our services are designed to help nonprofits: Meet their mission: We provide strategic support to help organizations align their activities with their core mission. Strengthen organizational structure: Our team works with nonprofits to enhance their governance, management practices, and operational frameworks. Increase funding streams: We assist in identifying and securing diverse funding sources, ensuring financial stability and growth. Enhance outcomes: By improving service delivery and impact measurement, we help organizations achieve better results for the communities they serve. We collaborate with health and human service organizations, community economic development agencies, aging services, and other community-based organizations, helping them to reach their full potential. Our work is especially critical for under-funded and under-staffed organizations, as we provide the support they need to offer a hand-up to communities in need. By strengthening these nonprofits, the Alliance for Nonprofits makes a positive, lasting impact on local communities and their residents. We are committed to fostering a vibrant, effective nonprofit sector that contributes to the well-being and resilience of our community. #nonprofitleaders, #socialworkers, #nonprofit, https://lnkd.in/evnKAeyP

As the incoming chair, I'm excited about the impactful projects we have lined up for this year. Two of the things that we KNOW we're doing this year are the following: 🔹 Revise the Guidelines: We are embarking on the crucial task of revising the Guidelines for Education and Training, a process that shapes our field and occurs only once every decade. Your expertise could make a significant difference! 🔹 Update the Graduate Training Program Database: This essential tool helps guide potential graduate students in their educational journey. We need your insights to make it even better! SheRen Consulting - News Alert! 📣 🌟NEW: National Service Program Implementation Rules 🌟 AmeriCorps has announced a transformative new rule for the AmeriCorps State and National program, effective October 1, 2024. This rule promises to reduce barriers, expand workforce development opportunities, and enhance programmatic flexibility. At SheRen Consulting, we are committed to helping organizations navigate these changes to maximize their impact. Here are some key highlights of the new rule and our assessments: 🔹 Grantee & Subgrantee Match Requirements Modified: Starting at 24% for the first three-year cycle, incrementally increasing to 30% by the tenth year. This adjustment makes it more affordable for organizations to run AmeriCorps programs, especially in high-need areas. Rule Change Score: A++ This is a win for grantees and subgrantees of all sizes! 🔹 Simplified Match Waiver Criteria: The new rule aligns with AmeriCorps Seniors' criteria, simplifying the match waiver process. This allows organizations to focus on their missions without being overwhelmed by funding challenges. Rule Change Score: B A positive step, reducing confusion between state commissions and subrecipients. However, a streamlined process only works if requests are processed within a reasonable timeframe. Let's see how well it is operationalized in the coming months. 🔹 Job Readiness Waiver Flexibilities: Waivers on education hour limitations for programs focusing on apprenticeships, job training, GED attainment, and other credentialing activities foster greater job readiness. Rule Change Score: A National service should build up professionals and align with their career aspirations. Programs must include this new option in onboarding materials for new service members. 🔹 Removal of Term Limit Barriers: The four-term limit has been removed, allowing individuals to serve multiple terms up to the equivalent of two full-time education awards. This change increases diversity and commitment within AmeriCorps. Rule Change Score: A This allows members serving in less-than-full-time awards, such as an 100hrs or 300hr slot, especially in our summer AmeriCorps programs and Conservation Corps, to serve more than four terms, enhancing retention and supporting recruitment goals. SheRen Consulting is here to support organizations in adapting to these changes, ensuring they can take full advantage of the new flexibilities and opportunities. Together, we can strengthen communities and empower individuals through effective national service programs. Connect with us in making a difference!
