Power is nothing without control! - And controls need to be trained!
electrical Voith Schneider Propeller (eVSP) for HADAG's ferries We are delighted that HADAG has chosen our modern electric Voith Schneider Propeller (eVSP) for its new vessels. We are currently training the HADAG captains on our efficient Voith-Simulator in Hamburg. Our experienced training captain, Edzards Kellermann, teaches the captains the unique maneuvering characteristics of the eVSP. We would like to thank HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst AG and the shipyard SET as well as the designer navalue GmbH - Custom Ferry Design & Consultancy for the excellent cooperation. The picture shows our training captain at the Voith-Simulator with the HADAG captain Jannik Seebauer. What if We Built Buildings Like Cruise Ships? In the shipbuilding industry, massive cruise ships are constructed in specialized shipyards. Every component—rooms, hull sections, and intricate systems—is prefabricated off-site and assembled with precision in a controlled environment. What if we applied this concept to the AECO industry? Imagine “building yards” where entire modules—walls, floors, facades, or even complete apartments—are fabricated off-site, transported to the project location, and assembled efficiently. This approach could transform the way we construct: 🔹 Boost Productivity: Specialized facilities with streamlined workflows ensure faster production with fewer delays. 🔹 Enhance Quality: Factory-level precision and control deliver better, more consistent results. 🔹 Save Costs: Reduced waste, bulk production, and optimized labor contribute to lower costs. 🔹 Sustainability: Prefabrication minimizes on-site waste and maximizes material efficiency. 🔹 Speed: Projects could be completed faster, unlocking earlier revenue streams. With tools like BIM, modular construction, and digital twins, this concept isn’t just a dream—it’s a real possibility. But to make it work, we need collaboration across the industry. What do you think? Could this shipyard-inspired approach revolutionize construction? How can we overcome challenges like logistics, customization, and adoption to make this a reality? Let’s discuss! Your insights could shape the future of our industry. #AECOIndustry #ConstructionInnovation #ModularConstruction #DigitalConstruction #BuildingYards #ProductivityInConstruction #SustainableConstruction #FutureOfConstruction #Prefabrication #ConstructionTechnology #BIM #DigitalTransformation #SmartConstruction #ConstructionEfficiency #EngineeringInnovation

Today, I want to highlight an impressive engineering feat in the maritime industry—the construction of the AIDAnova, a pioneering LNG-powered cruise ship. Spanning 337 meters in length, with a capacity of over 2,600 passenger cabins and a gross tonnage exceeding 180,000, AIDAnova is a remarkable achievement.Built at the world's largest covered dry dock at Meyer Werft shipyard, this state-of-the-art facility allows for year-round construction while ensuring protection from external weather conditions. Notably, the AIDAnova holds the distinction of being the first cruise ship to operate entirely on liquefied natural gas (LNG), marking a significant step toward sustainable cruising. This innovative project sets a new benchmark in environmental responsibility within the cruise industry and showcases the potential of LNG as a cleaner alternative fuel. I look forward to seeing how this develop into a new standard for future vessels.#MaritimeEngineering #Sustainability #CruiseIndustry #Innovation #CleanEnergy #LNG #AIDAnova
