Really interesting how the Peroni logo is driver facing and optimized for the halo camera--meaning it would be likelier to be seen more by the viewer and positioned for their pleasure, as well as the copious replays. Wondering why other sponsors don't consider the swap especially when we consider the rate of utilization of the in track cameras vs the halo or tv pod cameras. I get going for looks, but outside of seeing the car at a launch or in person, wouldn't it make more sense or a company to optimize for the tv viewer as they would be the sponsor's primary viewer via replays etc?
Incredible insights from Gareth Southgate and a stark reminder of how important it is to equip founders, entrepreneurs, professionals and athletes with the right tools to manage their psychology in high-performance environments.
Key takeaways:
- Mentality is everything
- Drive matters
- A constant desire to get better is essential
- The ability to deal with mistakes or when things go wrong is vital
- Knowing how to deal with success is just as important
- Understanding ways to handle pressure is necessary
As a founder, team leader or employee, can you perform at the highest level, day in and day out?
Through lots of unknown variables?
Through pressure?
Through the opinions of naysayers and non-believers?
Through consecutive bad quarters?
Through failure?
Through pessimistic macro environments?
Through big changes?
As the future of work continues to transform, as teams become more and more distributed, and as companies understand that the only thing that matters is how competent and kind their people are (not where they live or what their salary expectations are), high-performance will become a core value that companies seek, develop, mould and enable.
High performance will apply to everyone.
Thanks for sharing Steven Caulker 👌🏻

"The thing we have analysed more than anything when picking England squads has been the psychological..."
Gareth Southgate named his provisional 33-man England squad yesterday, and he made some big decisions.
Are you curious about his thought process?
Check out the interview below where he very openly talks about selecting players and offers us an insight into how he deals with making mistakes.
A very wise man whom I had the pleasure of spending time with.
Who would you have on the plane to Germany? ✈️⚽️
Some valuable insights here. The desire to continually improve fades with many highly talented players. Reaching a comfort zone can act as a self imposed glass ceiling for many players. Money, fame and success can erode an appetite to push on to the limits of a player's potential.
Mindset is a vital factor here in affecting ongoing performance. However, do coaches and players themselves look at how this can be kept at optimal levels. Think Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Harry Kane, Daley Thompson and many more elite sports stars.
It is possible to improve brain health and cognitive function and have better focus, mindset, resilience and to perform better through making better decisions, more quickly, more often.
What is an extra few percentage points worth, in terms of elite performance for an elite performers? What marginal gains and competitive edge could be achieved? All these factors are game changers.

Skills sets in sports traditionally centred on physical, observable parameters like skill level etc. This evolved to include tangible metrics of ‘form’ e.g. player stats that detail how well a player may have done over a particular period.
“The thing we have analysed more than anything else when we’ve been picking England squads is the psychological… can these guys perform under that pressure to the best possible level? And if not, can we help them to do that?”
Gareth Southgate details how psychological skills now form one pillar upon which player selection for the England squad is based. He details skills like recovery from mistakes, performance under pressure and sustained attention as key attributes of the elite player.
“In the end that makes the difference between the very, very good and the elite”
These skills fall into the broad category of ‘executive functions’. Like any other metric, they can measured and - more than that - trained and improved. We no longer have to view psychological skills as static and innate. They develop, evolve and can grow over time.
Like the early adopters of any new evidence and technology, those players, coaches and teams who embrace this growing body of scientific evidence will see the benefits before the rest.

In the current geopolitical and global economic environment we need Santa Claus more than ever. Let’s hope the sleigh carries gifts of wise security and economic policy, lower interest rates and moderate inflation for the new year - and if we have been extra good - an active M&A market and a robust IPO market with solid companies.
Santa is heading out very soon and on the radar of our allies:

Saturday night's game at Fifth Third Stadium was a true celebration of community and spirit! The stands were packed for Kennesaw State's first home game as part of the FBS. Check out some of the highlights in the video below.
It appears my comment was deleted twice from the below post - so thought I'd share it here. Venue owners should listen as well as amplify; that's how we improve, take stock and evolve.
The comment:
The gig was great - no doubt. Foo's rocked! 🤘🎆 But there was a severe lack of operational efficiency at the gig venue. Examples:
The bars were the worst I've experienced - no hyperbole. This is 2024, but multiple 40+ people queues across the stadium, concourses and on the pitch/standing area with dithering staff and stock issues.
Then, the grim sight of single-use plastic cups covering the stadium floor (and I'm sure, the stadia seats) - fans kicking through rivers of clear plastic cups to get to exit points. Again, this is 2024 and there are many other sustainable options.
Then the misery and danger of trying to get back to Stratford station from the stadium.
If you missed the end of the gig, you might have stood a chance. If you stayed to the end like we did, it was a 2-hour kettling-session with little security and no policing. Appalling and at many times dangerous.
I appreciate the hubris Graham Gilmore, but your team would benefit from an overhaul in operational efficiency. In almost 25 years of producing global events this was one of the worst operations I've witnessed as a fan.
I'd be v happy to talk about solutions or strategic tactics over a cuppa if you do plan for London Stadium to hit London 2012 heights again, and be heralded for operational excellence as a viable international venue on the global circuit.
Because again, Foo Fighters will have loved the atmosphere and the ticket sales - but every fan will feel let down by the venue.

The Worlds Stage rocked again . London Stadium we showed the world why we are simply the best at what we do. Foo Fighters have to be the best rock band in the world . Incredible 2 nights with 3 hour set both nights … Stratford rocked last week .
