Anticipate the needs of the client! As security and private staff professionals, we know that anticipating the needs of our principal is key to providing exceptional service. At United Citadel, we put just as much of an emphasis on service as we do the security needs of our protectees. Sure, we aren’t mind readers, but we are professionals who understand that when Murphy's Law strikes—and it will, often at the worst times—we need to be prepared. Here are a few things that, in our opinion, can help you achieve this objective: Think Two (or Three) Steps Ahead: Always consider what the principal might need next. Whether it’s having an extra charger(s) placed in the vehicle, keeping a small bag of breath mints, gum, floss, Kleenex, chapstick, Tylenol, etc. or having multiple alternative routes planned, being proactive can make all the difference. Stay Informed: Understand the principal’s routine and preferences. Gather as much information as possible. Things like knowing when they like their coffee, how they prefer their environment, what times to show presence and at times when not, can help you anticipate needs without having to be asked. When the principal has a question, have the answer or respond with “I’ll get that information to you”, if you dont have the answer on hand. Have a Contingency Plan: Always have a backup plan or two in place. Whether it's an additional layer of security for an unexpected event, an alternative solution for last-minute travel or meeting changes, knowledge of the nearest ER, or distance and time from location to location, being ready for the unexpected is crucial. The goal here isn’t just to make your job easier (but it does), but to enhance the safety and comfort of the principal. By doing so, you’re building confidence and trust. Great service is about being ready for whatever comes your way. #staysafe! #service #privateservice #privatesecurity #personalsecurity #executiveprotection #estatesecurity #residentialsecurity #estatemanager #propertymanager #mindset #beproactive #hnwi #readiness #privatestaff #murphyslaw
