Are you ready?! Get your Networking gear together! Preparing for networking at the WBENC (Women's Business Enterprise National Council) conference in Denver next week involves several key steps to ensure you make the most of the event: Research Attendees: Look into the list of attendees and identify key individuals or companies you want to connect with. Understand their backgrounds, interests, and potential synergies with your own business. Set Clear Goals: Define what you hope to achieve from networking at the conference. Whether it's securing partnerships, gaining insights, or simply expanding your professional network, having clear objectives will guide your interactions. Perfect Your Elevator Pitch: Craft a concise and compelling elevator pitch that effectively communicates who you are, what your business does, and what makes it unique. Practice delivering it confidently and naturally. Update Marketing Materials: Ensure your business cards, brochures, and any other marketing materials are up-to-date and accurately represent your brand. These materials serve as valuable leave-behinds for potential contacts. Dress Appropriately: Dress professionally and appropriately for the event. Consider the dress code and atmosphere of the conference when planning your attire. Bring Necessary Supplies: Carry essentials such as business cards, a notebook, pens, and a charger for your electronic devices. You never know when you might need to jot down notes or exchange contact information. Prepare Conversation Starters: Think of interesting conversation starters or questions to initiate discussions with fellow attendees. Showing genuine interest in others can help establish rapport and foster meaningful connections. Follow Up Strategy: Plan your follow-up strategy in advance. Collect contact information from people you meet and send personalized follow-up emails or LinkedIn messages within a few days of the event to solidify connections. Attend Workshops and Sessions: Take advantage of workshops, seminars, and panel discussions offered at the conference. These sessions provide valuable insights and networking opportunities with both speakers and attendees. Stay Flexible: While it's important to have a plan, be flexible and open to spontaneous interactions and opportunities that may arise during the conference. Some of the most valuable connections can happen unexpectedly. By following these steps, you'll be well-prepared to network effectively and make meaningful connections at the WBENC conference in Denver. https://lnkd.in/gbS95qD3

This is a great article on the value of networking at conferences, but I particularly love the call out on social connection and working together towards a common goal. It's timely since this was exactly what our panel talked about yesterday -- the value of connecting on a personal level, finding common ground with people in your network, and helping others achieve their goals. Great find, Ana Gosseen! Thanks for sharing!
