Why to attend internship/job fairs? This fact is not known to many, but i just realised internship fairs are highly beneficial. I recommend everyone to participate. But WHY? ✓ Mock interviews for free Even if you are not looking for that role or company, still give it a shot. Mock interviews hi ho jayenge :) ✓ Networking I met a few people from different colleges at my own college's internship fair, and we got connected on LinkedIn (haha, LinkedIn connections everywhere) ✓ Internship fairs are open to every college So, students from tier 2 or 3 colleges who rant about their pcell (opportunities nhi h) can explore internships at other colleges. ✓ Future preparation Familiarise yourself with the interview process, and it will definitely help you in the future, like how to present yourself, how to communicate, and providing on-point answers, etc. ✓ HR connection Just give the interview in your preferred company, even if the role doesn't suit you. It's because you can stay in touch with the HR and inquire if the company has your preferred role in the future, where you can contribute more effectively. Thanks for reading my Ted talk. See you at the next one! :) PS: Many colleges are still organizing internship fairs. You can apply for them too. #internship #internshipopportunities #delhiuniversity

Five Tips for Landing your First Internship By: Lily Kwong, Account Supervisor 1. Build that Resume ✍ Don't be afraid to include past experiences even if they aren't applicable to what you are applying for. Skills are transferable and employers love to see that you have experience working well with other people in a professional environment. 2. Network 👥 Networking can be as simple as talking to your professor about their experiences and people they know, or LinkedIn messaging someone who works a job you are interested in to see if you could borrow 15 minutes of their time to talk about their work. 3. Attend Career Fairs 🕴 Career fairs are a great place to both network with individuals as well as be face-to-face with future employers or recruiters from companies you may be interested in working for. 4. Stay Active on LinkedIn 🔗 Connect with your classmates, fellow university alumni, and anyone else you are particularly interested in. This way you can observe what people with similar career aspirations are participating in and interested in. 5. Visit the COM Career Services Office 🏢 They are constantly posting internship opportunities on their website and on posters, and even offer COM-specific internship funds. Additionally, the COM Career Service Center also offers appointments for resume, cover letters, and general internship and job search. Read the full blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gH5viMgX
