Absolutely, it's baffling how those with a ‘micromanage-everything’ attitude often seem the least suited for their roles, carrying a banner of entitlement wherever they go. 🤷♂️ Why do companies watch silently as valuable talent walks out the door, leaving the rest to burn out under such leadership, only to promote these very micromanagers? It's a mystery. 🕵️♂️ And let's talk costs - investing in keeping a high-value employee is far less than the drain of training someone new. 💼💰 It really makes you wonder...what's the true cost of poor leadership?

In a complex, fast-changing world, leadership teams are facing challenges that are bigger than ever while trying to reach goals that are sometimes seemingly at odds. A super leadership team must: Guide the organization’s transformation while ensuring near-term performance. Shift from being a group of individual “superheroes” championing their own domains to putting the enterprise first—sometimes at the expense of team members’ individual agendas. Recognize the necessary behaviors and norms that will advance the enterprise and then codifying and cultivating them. Leadership teams should begin by fostering the attributes we metaphorically call the Head, Heart, and Hands. Then, they should follow a three-stage approach of reflecting, committing, and practicing the right behaviors and norms—and making a habit of it.

Humble leadership is characterized by a willingness to admit a mistake or when you don’t know something, a tendency to share credit for successes, and an appreciation for others’ contributions. This leadership style is built on self-awareness, respect for others, and a focus on collective over individual success. Research has shown that humble leaders foster increased employee engagement, trust, and collaboration within their team.
