When my son was 2ish he fell off the pool table, head first, onto the tile floor. Him and his brother were playing super hero tag full on with capes, masks, the whole shebang. As I saw him climb up on it, I said very clearly: “Please get down. Let’s not climb on the furniture. It isn’t safe.” He had that second child look in his eyes, staring right back at mine, and said: “Catch me if you can.” His foot got caught on the ledge as he turned to run for the chase, and down he went. I’ll never forget the sound of impact as he hit the ground, or what happened to my heart during those 3 seconds and the hours after. As we were leaving the ER (he was completely fine), we had a little conversation on the way home that turned into a massive paradigm shift. Me: This is why we listen to Mom and follow rules. You could have been very badly hurt. Him: But I wasn’t. Also, Mom? I did listen. You told me to get down. So I did. I just got down in my own way. Me: 😑🤔 He taught me more than I taught him that day. I should have said “keep your feet on the ground”. When we tell people what they can do versus can’t, should do versus shouldn’t, are allowed to do versus restricted from, the outcome is dramatically different. As you lead teams and companies into the future, take this lesson as a PSA, brought to you by Grayson. Focus on the forward outcome, not the things to avoid doing, although they both may be correct. One lands completely differently than the other. (…Clearly. 👀😮💨😆)

The Zen Mobility Guide is where you find a routine that lets you take your exercise routine to the next level. Find your natural flow and bulletproof yourself against injuries.
Here is a Free Mobility Guide for you all. I started Zen Barefoot when I got injured. Visited over 10 physios (I'm still in physical rehab btw), and one thing that came up was my limited mobility that led to weak joints and unnatural running form. Mix that with high weekly mileage and you get injured. 👣 I didn't even know what mobility meant. Turns out it is not just about being flexible, but more so about being strong in a wider range of motion. The ability to move. 🏃♂️ I wish I knew about this before I got injured, but you still got time. I created a wholistic guide that will help you work on your entire body, or even specific body parts as per your needs. Do check it out and feel free to share any feedback that you may have to make it better. All you gotta do is fill out this form 📜 , and we'll share it with you on mail. 📧 https://lnkd.in/guXe7hW6 Feel free to comment your contact below if that is what you prefer. Have fun with it!
