The objective of acceptance testing is to ensure that concrete conforms to the requirements of the buyer. Acceptance testing includes tests on plastic (unhardened) concrete for slump, air content, density, and temperature. It also includes tests on hardened concrete for strength and durability. Hardened concrete is tested for acceptance in accordance with standard procedures to determine whether it has the potential to develop the desired properties. It is not the intent of these test results to reflect the actual properties of concrete in the structure. During construction, numerous variables will influence the properties of in-place concrete. These variables are beyond the control of the ready mixed concrete supplier. Ready mixed concrete producers are generally aware of the adverse effects of high temperatures. They should understand the importance of doing whatever is practical to maintain concrete temperatures at a reasonable level, especially when the quality of concrete is assessed on the basis of strength tests of specimens taken in the field. Hot weather and high initial concrete temperature can affect the properties of freshly mixed plastic concrete and hardened concrete.

Did you know? Concrete and cement surfaces are NOT mold proof! If conditions are right, mold on concrete walls and surfaces can grow quickly. Surfaces such as concrete seem impermeable, but they can be quite porous. Concrete wall mold can take hold and multiply if the conditions are right. So, how can you prevent your concrete walls and surfaces from molding? Penetrating sealers are a great choice. They does the job of concrete sealers and coating by closing up the pores of the concrete. This way, your project can be protected from weather, stains, and mold at the same time. The concrete slump test measures the consistency of fresh concrete before it sets. It is performed to check the workability of freshly made concrete, and therefore the ease with which concrete flows. It can also be used as an indicator of an improperly mixed batch

OK Let's talk about some important properties of Fresh concrete:- -->If you want to me say which properties of fresh concrete we have to observe specifically so we can have confidence about concrete QUALITY. Then I can say :- *WORKABILITY - We already discussed *TEMPERATURE OF CONCRETE - Placement in extreme conditions like Hot weather or cold weather you need to ensure the temperature of concrete carefully.(TCC) *FRESH DENSITY - It suggests that the mix has an appropriate proportion of ingredients that we designed to achieve the desired consistency, strength and ease of placement. +-25kg/m3 is acceptable *AIR CONTENT - It tells about Voids % For 20 mm agg- 2% is max For 10 mm agg - 3% is max *SETTING TIME OF CONCRETE - Generally 4-6 hours If we observe this properties than we can be confident about our fresh concrete. Always Remember Good Fresh Concrete means-Good Hardened concrete LHS = RHS Thank you🙂
