What does winning mean for you and your team? Winning is great, but what do you want to win for – or who do you want to win for? Winning, or being named as a finalist for an award can be a massive boost for an individual, validating months, or years, of hard work. It can spur you on to further greatness whether you win or lose, giving you the confidence to take a step further in your progression or try something you previously thought of as unreachable. However, for a team, awards recognition can help in a number of other factors. Firstly, it’s great for morale. Employees see that their employers value their contributions and that their hard work is appreciated enough to win an award. This, in turn, can be great for employee retention, as people want to stay in a company that values them. It can also be great for attracting new clients and impressing your current ones. If people see that you’re a company that is highly thought of in terms of winning or being a finalist in an awards ceremony, then they will either want to work with you, or their decision to work with you will be validated. So, what are you waiting for? The SME Business Awards have an imminent deadline, so don’t delay. Show your staff exactly what you think of them, and highlight their brilliant work, NOW! 💡Tuesday awards tip | Plan a year ahead As unnecessary as this may sound, it's absolutely crucial to: a) Writing a comprehensive award-winner of an entry. b) Making sure you don't miss the deadline. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴? Because for some awards, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞. For example: the edie Awards 2025 are currently welcoming entries. Here's the timeline: - October 18: Extended deadline 📅 - w/c Dec 2: Shortlist announced 📣 - March 2025: Winners revealed 🏆 The same goes for the Rad Awards 2025: - Sept 27: Deadline 📅 - Nov: Shortlist announced 📣 - January 2025: Winners revealed 🏆 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺? If there's an award you/your company really wants to enter, get your entry in within the required deadline which, in some cases can be the year before. #theawardsclinic #awards #awardstips #awardsadvice
