Assay results from Trinex Minerals Limited's first two batches of pegmatite outcrops and boulder samples taken in the northern half of the Halo-Yuri Project in Canada, have confirmed the presence of widespread high grade #lithium mineralisation that present immediate walk-up drill targets. The highest-grade assay received returned a value of 5.1% Li₂O with spodumene confirmed in 94 out of 96 samples. The purpose of Trinex Minerals Limited's first phase of field work was to rapidly assess the Halo-Yuri #Lithium Project to determine whether there were any spodumene occurrences worthy of further work. The results from this are significant with four separate areas identified by the presence of spodumene bearing pegmatite outcrops and/or boulders in the north-east area. With the clear potential of the north-east area of the project, a further two mineral claims (ML 37 & ML 38) were staked during the program. Assay results are expected in six to eight weeks. Premier African Minerals Ltd (AIM:PREM, OTC:PRMMF) should publish a new mineral resource for its Zulu #Lithium project shortly, says house broker Shore Capital. Focus of the update will be tonnes of contained spodumene in the Main Zone area, with completion expected by the end of the current quarter. Extensive X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) has provided detailed information on crystallography and chemical composition revealing that more than 85% of lithium mineralisation is associated with spodumene and the remaining 15% with lepidolite. According to ShoreCap, the fact that the dominant lithium-bearing #mineral is spodumene is encouraging as it is the preferred mineral for the production of lithium concentrate (SC6).
