This week’s Ace of PACE is Occupational Therapist, Alyssa Irving! Alyssa is part of our Pennsylvania team at the Kinder Park center. Her nomination form reads: Alyssa Irving is a devoted and selfless practitioner. She manages a significant caseload of participants, advocating for their health and wellness needs with a unique skillset to include specialized wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, self-care, and strength needs. She takes a creative approach to her job, and it is evident that she comes from a place of love. She makes sure to be a presence at the participants’ homes, supporting their needs above and beyond what is required of her during her frequent visits. She is a frequent participant in Colleague Safety meetings and presents useful insight in the prevention of falls and ensuring participant safety. Alyssa gives back to her colleagues. Agreeing to mentor new colleagues, making herself available for questions ranging from clinical to practical, and everything in between. Additionally, she volunteers her time to special initiatives to include colleague safety bulletins. Alyssa's patience, kindness, and dedication to not only the participants but also her colleagues set her apart. Additionally, she volunteers her time to special initiatives with staff members to highlight colleague safety. I can think of no one more deserving for the Ace of PACE award!
