I once pursued a career as a national figure skater, but today I’m dedicated to documentary photography. My lens is my gateway to storytelling, and I’ve been fortunate to be the first and only Malaysian female photographer accredited for both the PyeongChang 2018 Winter and Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. To date, I’ve covered four Olympic Games: PyeongChang 2018, Tokyo 2020, Beijing 2022, and Paris 2024. Currently, I work as a photojournalist, exploring editorial news, entertainment and sports. I chose photojournalism because I believe in its power to drive change. Photography has the ability to challenge societal norms and provoke thought. My aim is to create images that inspire people to question the world around them and spark meaningful conversations. Being a photojournalist is demanding, both physically and mentally. I often miss family gatherings and outings with friends, and I’ve faced discrimination in a male-dominated industry. Despite these challenges, I remain committed to my work. My advice to Malaysians pursuing their dreams is to find something you’re passionate about and pursue it wholeheartedly. Use your resources wisely, understand what you can control, and focus on your unique strengths. Never belittle others to lift yourself up; true success comes from uplifting one another and staying true to yourself. Always happy? No Always successful? No Always good day at work? No T-Mobile Polska is a great place to work, but there are also many great companies with inspiring leaders who cares about supportive company culture, friendly environment & great atmosphere at work. Unfortunately, it doesn't mean that we are always successful at work, that we are not failing, that we may have a really bad day and we can loose our motivation. This is life, with up's & down's, with challenging tasks, challenging projects or challenging people and it's not possible to always win or to be always successful. What is important for me in such situations? 1. My attitude towards the challenge and, 2. How to get back on track with my motivation & energy. Today I would like to ask you about second point: What are your ideas to energize yourself, what is giving you a motivation & energy? For me it's about: 1. Sports: running 🏃♂️ , gym 🤸♂️ , biking 🚵 - my main source of #energy :) 2. Travelling 🧳 with many sport activities like hiking 🥾 , walking 🚶♂️ , and with getting know different cultures and people. #diversity #openculture 3. Supporting and inspiring others with their development & growth 4. Supporting others who needs help & actively participating in voluntary initiatives, for example last week we were planting small trees in Kampinoski Park Narodowy, initiative organized by Malgorzata Idryan - great time with great people 5. The transition from the dynamic world of aviation to the structured realm of corporate Japan has been a journey of adaptation and growth, leveraging skills I never knew would be so crucial in this new chapter of my life. What started as a simple idea to connect with our Jakarta team members turned into an incredible team-building adventure in Bali, back in August. Amid unanimous enthusiasm, everyone collaborated to turn this vision into reality, going above and beyond to ensure its success, even when it meant topping up the modest budget we were given. The 2 days 3 nights trip proved to be truly transformative, reigniting our team spirit and fortifying our connections. I noted 3 key takeaways: 🚀 Boost Morale: Engaging activities and "masterclasses" injected fresh motivation and camaraderie, fostering a deeper understanding among team members. 💪🏼 Strengthened Relationships: Exploring new places and immersing ourselves in nature created lasting bonds and strengthened our interpersonal connections. 🌎 Cultural Awareness: Experiencing different cultures broadened our perspectives, enhancing inclusivity within the team and encouraging mutual respect. Despite the constraints of time, resources, and energy, experiences like these are invaluable in humanizing our work relationships beyond the office space. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional team for their unwavering support in making this journey a reality. Just got back from a whirlwind business trip to Japan, and wow, what a month it’s been! 🌸 Every day was packed with something new and exciting, blending intense work with bits of magic. Despite the non-stop pace, we squeezed in some sightseeing - Nara and its serene plum blossoms stole my heart. And the digital ads in Osaka? They’re like nothing you’ve ever seen, turning everyday moments into art. This trip was full of firsts for me, including conducting my very first engineering interviews. It pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. And talk about being pushed – we worked day and night to bring two major projects to life, finally seeing them go live as I packed up to leave. It was exhausting but oh, so satisfying. But here’s the thing: this trip wasn’t just about work. It was about people. From collaborating closely with our clients and their teams to solving problems side by side, it really showed me the power of working together. And let’s not forget the dinners - cooking and sharing meals with teammates was a blast, offering us a taste of Japan beyond the boardroom. A massive shoutout to Akira Takai-san for the warm hospitality, and to my dream team – Raj Madhuram, Mukundu Kumaran, and Daisuke Dan Nagayama, Ph.D. – for making this trip not just possible, but incredible. How To Truly Experiencing a Culture: Immersion, Connection, and Reflection

"Hey Naz, managing events can be exhausting, right? You have no time for family and no life balance. Must be bored becoming you…” Recently, after the Chinese New Year celebration in Penang, my team and I dove straight into a whirlwind of back-to-back events. From setting up and monitoring the HRD Corp Bootcamp to a midnight setup for MOU Signing for E-Latih, and then swiftly moving to Berjaya Times Square to prepare for the NAC Summit—we were on a non-stop ride from February 23 to 29. During this intense period, I was only getting 4-5 hours of sleep per day, waking up early to ensure everything was ready on time. As event professionals, punctuality is crucial, and being ahead of schedule is a necessity. Am I tired? Absolutely. But the passion I have for what I do fuels me. I understand the sacrifices that come with the territory, and I'm willing to make them for the sake of my career aspirations. Reflecting on last year, when I had a more balanced 8 am - 4 pm job, I had time for hiking and running after work. It seemed great for life balance, but I realized I was missing out on pushing my limits for career development. At HRD Corp - Human Resource Development Corporation the pace is fast, and we need to stay ahead to fulfill our significant responsibility. Contrary to the belief that we're always busy, we do find balance in our lives. It's about efficient time management. Even on weekends, I manage to squeeze in a 16 km run in the morning and spend quality time with my family in the afternoon. We don't work all the time; it's about striking the right balance.
