This international Day of Charity we're raising money for our charity partner XLP. The team is putting on its walking boots on Thursday 3 October to trek a combined total of 1,000 km (c.1 million steps) across the Chiltern Hills. XLP helps to create positive futures for 4,000+ young people living in London’s inner-city estates. Please donate to support this amazing work and help us to achieve our target of £8,000. If you're a small charity, it'd be brilliant if you could spare a few minutes of your precious time to complete this survey on what the future of infrastructure support for small charities should look like ⬇ It's your chance to explain what topics/themes are most important for your org, how your needs have changed over time, and how support should be structured and costed. This will not only help to shape the future of small charity infrastructure support, it'll also help the sector to build a stronger case for support for why this is needed. This is vital, because, at present, infrastructure support is hugely underfunded. Here's the survey link: https://lnkd.in/e6Uz5QEe

Some charitable organizations may have reservations about initiating a recurring donation program. Concerns may arise regarding the resources required to manage monthly donors. One way to alleviate these concerns is by establishing a donor account, also known as a donor portal. #monthlygiving #recuringgiving #nonprofit #charity #fundraising

I focus on authenticity, empowerment, the origins and consequences of trauma and abuse, manipulation, and healing from the many challenging personal lived experiences that have shaped me. Founder of Wanderer's Way.
I'm curious about the terms of the Decult Charitable Trust, including details like the non-charitable income beneficiaries, the duration of the trust before its funds are released to a fully formed nonprofit organization, the specific charity or nonprofit it benefits, and the percentage of the trust’s annual income paid as taxable income to non-charitable beneficiaries, if any. Given the prevalence of fraud in the nonprofit sector, I prioritize supporting causes that demonstrate integrity and transparency, managed by well-intentioned individuals. Wanderer’s Way established a trust, but a US Charitable Remainder Trust in October 2023. Though this allows for a tax deduction for donors, it differs from direct donations to a charitable organization. To avoid misleading anyone about how their contributions are managed, I have not publicized the Wanderer’s Way CRT. Most Charitable Remainder Trusts reserve donations for a nonprofit for 20 years, delaying the nonprofit's access to these funds while 5%-50% of the annual income earned from the investment of the assets donated to a Charitable Remainder Trust are distributed out to the non-charitale income beneficiaries named in the trust as ordinary and taxable income during the 20 years the Charitable Remainder Trust is in effect. If the assets donated to a Charitable Remainder Trust are well-invested, it is the non-charitable income beneficiaries who will benefit from the trust's earnings over its typical 20-year term. This is why proper donor education, governance, independant third-party oversight, and records transparency are crucial. I fully support Decult’s mission and purpose but advocate for rigorous third-party oversight. My inquiry is not meant to undermine your efforts; I recognize the challenges faced by those working to address the world’s most egregious wrongs. I'm committed to charitable oversight and transparency, having seen abuses of charitable tax laws. My aim is to support organizations and professionals that tackle trauma, abuse, mental health, and anti-cult/anti-coercion issues ethically and compassionately. I'm equally dedicated to protecting charity's sanctity as I am to aiding global healing from trauma and abuse. Wanderer’s Way is committed to governance, oversight, and transparency, ensuring our dedication to our cause and the public's understanding of our operations and resource use. To me, charity is a Heavenly grace, one that I am fully dedicated and determined to protect with the upmost integrity. Could you please provide full access to the trust document and all amendments? Making these documents public would be a reasonable step towards fostering trust and transparency, aligning with the trust's purpose and the confidence you aim to instill in your supporters and the broader community. Once more, I remain unwaveringly dedicated and fully supportive of Decult’s mission and purpose. My goal is to foster equally strong confidence in its leadership. #cults #charity

Some charitable donations come with limitations imposed by the donor, but there are times when a fund’s purpose may become unlawful, impossible, impracticable or wasteful. What happens when a charity wants to use these funds, but the donor has died and there are no donor representatives available to consent to changes to the restrictions? In the latest issue of Corporate Insights, Peter Martin discusses the various legal doctrines that apply to releasing fund restrictions and the techniques available to charitable organizations https://lnkd.in/g9GP4Q5J #NonProfit #CharitableDonations #Charities
