"Enjoying life at trivago to the fullest! My trivago adventure began when I moved from a small city in northern Mexico to Germany, transitioning from Industrial Engineering to studying for a Master's in Product Management for IT. trivago supported me at every stage of this journey: first as a student, then as an intern, and now as a full-time employee. Throughout this ride, I've had the chance to not only grow professionally but also to explore diverse cultures, build teamwork skills, experience amazing company events, and step out of my comfort zone. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of an organization that has such a unique work culture, rooted in authenticity and respect. Most importantly, I’m thankful to trivago for the opportunity to meet fantastic individuals who have not only become great colleagues, but also awesome friends. It’s remarkable how a job can so positively impact one's life!" – Ana, Product Manager #trivagotales #lifeattrivago #productmanagement

"In 2013, I took a leap of faith and transitioned from the structured world of banking to the dynamic and vibrant environment of trivago as a Java Engineer. It was a positive culture shock that broadened my perspective in countless ways. I was immediately struck by the multicultural workforce, which I saw as trivago’s greatest asset. Paired with the intense "fast-fail-forward" attitude, trivago soon became the best place for me to grow. All this fostered an environment allowing me to not only develop my technical skills but also to gain invaluable personal insights about myself and how to work with people having different perspectives and backgrounds. Today I can say that my journey at trivago has been nothing else than transformative. The opportunities I’ve had to develop professionally and personally, especially when transitioning to different leadership roles, have been pivotal. Embracing the freedom to fail and learn from those experiences has been a cornerstone of that development. The most crucial lesson I’ve learned is the importance of adaptability – not just professionally but in all aspects of life. Being responsive to change and maintaining a positive mindset, is a skill that will continue to be invaluable as I move forward in life." – Daniel, Content Engineering Lead #lifeattrivago #internalmobility #growthmindset

"My journey at trivago started in April 2020 when I joined the company as a QA working student in a team that was then known as Booking Data Quality. That was the time of fully-remote work as Covid was forcing us away from office, but trivago’s amazing culture and energy were clear for me to see even in that context. Getting this opportunity, which was my first form of work experience, was amazing, but even more so was the trust my leads gave me to be independent in my work from day one. Even as a student I was driving projects and communicating to external parties regularly, which was an invaluable experience for me. In December 2021 trivago gave me another opportunity, this time to move into a full-time Backend Software Engineering role in the Advertiser Tools & Interaction team, another “first” for me. As a junior engineer, it was very easy to become overwhelmed, but I was given carefully-picked tasks and projects by my lead Aleksandar Stamenov, an amazing approach that enabled me to gain confidence, knowledge and familiarity with the codebase. In the time since, I was able to build on that initial knowledge and momentum in order to continue my growth path, something which I am excited to continue long into the future. Looking back, if I would do one thing differently, it would be to be even more brave and experimental in my learning process, without fear to “fall forwards” as often as possible." - Mirza, Backend Software Engineer #lifeattrivago #internalmobility #growthmindset

"In 2012, I stepped into the bustling world of trivago as a wide-eyed trainee; my mission being to unravel the mysteries hidden within user behavior on our website. After my trainee program, I got a full-time role and overtime, I became an expert in understanding user behavior as the challenges evolved. Each puzzle I solved felt like a victory, propelling me forward. A leadership role beckoned to me in 2019. Completely new to this kind of leadership, I decided to dive headfirst into this challenge where my focus shifted from understanding analytics to managing people. Becoming a lead was overwhelming – but in the best way possible. I had support from colleagues who shared their experiences and helped me navigate this initial period. Today, with my team of data science engineers, analysts, and software engineers, we take care of the AB testing framework and related tools at trivago and consult in case of technical infrastructure changes. I’ve been at trivago for 12 years now. To me this company isn’t just a workplace, it’s an ecosystem that enables both personal and professional growth. Here, I was challenged to question the status quo: Is what I’m doing truly the best approach? Can I push for better outcomes? My special thanks go to Andrej whose challenging training pushed me to grow day by day, and James, who patiently teaches me how to be strategic and precise. If I could turn back time, would I do anything differently? Not a chance. Every twist, every turn, led me to who I am today. Regrets? None. For in the puzzle of life, every piece matters – even the seemingly misplaced." – Toni, Data Analysis Lead #lifeattrivago #internalmobility #growthmindset

How I turned a tough start in hospitality into founding a coliving space with 600+ community members: I was a top student, but I had no clear career path. I knew I wanted to travel to Asia. So, I looked for internships there and discovered Les Roches University. Their unique global program was impressive. But there was an obstacle I needed to face. The program was in English, and I spoke very little of it. - - So, my 1st internship? A total nightmare, as you'd guess. Ultimately, I learned some valuable things: → Corporations are not for me → I can learn anything → I won’t agree to any mistreatment at work For my 2nd internship, I moved to Nanjing, China. I fell in love with the culture and decided to learn Chinese. And convince my university to let me do 3rd internship. - - While in Asia, I managed a rooftop bar in Bangkok. I learned about the importance of routine, communication, and resilience. And ultimately realised that success is all about attitude. After graduation, I took on a 4th internship in sales management at Trivago. Soon after, I landed a job at Expedia Group, managing top hotels in Spain. - - When Covid hit, I found myself in Tenerife. I rediscovered how much I love nature on my home island. With time to reflect, I realised I wanted my path. I started working on Cactus Coliving. Invested all my savings. I was determined despite doubts and a tourism crisis. My family supported me through tough times. 3 years later … → Cactus Coliving found its purpose and thrives with a global community → 600+ digital nomads have visited my old Canarian family house → Lots of them come back every year Wouldn’t change my journey a bit. It taught me that following your passion can lead to success beyond any measure. - - 📌 Hi! I’m Maria, the founder of Cactus Coliving. If you're a founder, digital nomad or remote worker, I'd love to connect with you <3

Virtual Assistant/Short term Rental Property Finder/ Airbnb Cohost/ Lead Generation/Email Management/Social Media Management.
Airbnb can be improved by focusing on the customer experience. These include providing more detailed information about properties, such as photos and reviews from previous guests so that customers can make an informed decision when booking a stay. One way is to enhance the safety and security measures for both guests and hosts should be providing more detailed information about the accessibility of properties and working with hosts to make necessary accommodations. Additionally, Airbnb should focus on making sure their hosts are providing quality accommodations and services to ensure a positive experience for all parties involved. Also, Airbnb could improve its environmental sustainability efforts by promoting eco-friendly practices among hosts and guests and encouraging the use of sustainable materials in the construction and furnishing of properties. Finally, Airbnb should continue to innovate to provide new features that will enhance the user's overall experience with the platform. #airbnb #airbnbcohost #Airbnbhost #Virtualassistant #Internship #Propertyfinder

I am humbled to share that I will be embarking on an exciting journey as a Product Management Intern at Expedia Group this summer — an opportunity that feels like a beacon of light illuminating my path. It's a feeling of exhilaration and anticipation, akin to stepping onto a new horizon where innovation and teamwork converge. Dear Connections, I am excited to share my experience with the first project assignment as part of my ongoing virtual internship at AIncubator - Feynn Labs and Feynn Labs. . During this period, I developed an idea for a travel application called Local Explorer. As part of the product ideation task, I was tasked to come up with a business idea where data science and technology could be applied to enhance small or medium-sized businesses. My project, Local Explorer, is an app that matches travelers with local guides based on the travelers' specific preferences, such as cultural knowledge, historical expertise, or adventure planning. Why did I come up with this idea? The traditional tour packages are often expensive and generic, leaving solo travelers struggling to create personalized itineraries. Additionally, finding desired locations in unfamiliar places can be difficult, and travelers' preferences are not always met by traditional tour companies. I saw an opportunity to create a solution that allows travelers to plan their own itineraries while being guided by local experts, creating a unique and authentic travel experience. How will this idea help businesses and society? Local Explorer aims to provide a more personalized and affordable travel experience while supporting local communities. By connecting travelers with local guides, the app fosters sustainable tourism and creates employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas where the tourism potential remains untapped. Local guides with specific expertise will be able to share their knowledge and offer an experience that major travel companies often miss, benefiting both travelers and local economies.
