PGS’ novel acquisition configuration is the new standard. PGS had a very busy 3D seismic acquisition season offshore Norway last year. Our Ramform fleet deployed the same state-of-the-art streamer and source geometry on three exploration surveys: A 14 x 75 m x 7000 m deep-tow multisensor GeoStreamer spread with two long streamer-tails in combination with a wide-tow triple source. Over 15 000 sq. km of high-quality 3D seismic data were acquired. And more data will be acquired using this same configuration this year. This long tail, wide tow source acquisition configuration is better by design. The variable streamer-lengths support longer offsets for full waveform inversion (FWI) velocity model building. Multi-sources provide improved spatial sampling. Wide-tow multi-sources deliver improved near offset coverage for optimal subsurface imaging and/or increased acquisition efficiency. More info about the concepts behind the PGS solutions can be found in these publications ( Carine Roalkvam (Delarue), okwudili orji, Martin Widmaier) : -> Redefining marine towed-streamer acquisition https://ow.ly/4LIj50QWjkX -> Advanced 3D seismic crossover technologies between hydrocarbon exploration, CCS development, and offshore wind ow.ly/JCZ930sAQrX #Fleet2Beat #MarineSeismicAcquisition #AcquisitionTechnology #OilAndGasExploration

Here’s a sneak peek of Ocean Geophysics' repurposed Australian Oil and Gas subsurface seismic data repository. Feel free to contact us to find out how we can improve these historical data sets; prior knowledge of subsurface conditions is the perfect starting point for any survey campaign or ground modelling. #seismicdata #oceangeophysics #australianwind #gippslandwind

Ever wondered 🧠 if there is still life in your old seismic data? The answer is most certainly yes, but it will require the necessary technical expertise and imaging technology to unlock any new insights. And it will most certainly also require teamwork🤝 and working #smartertogether. Contrary to common belief PGS is not only excellent at processing its own GeoStreamer data but we also have a fantastic track record in rejuvenation 3rd party data, including data acquired by our competitors. The data example below is from Cyprus where we worked together with our partner MECI to combine several datasets into a modern regional depth volume and inversion products that help our customers better understand the local subsurface potential. #smartertogether #imaging #seismic #acquisition

Ever wondered 🧠 if there is still life in your old seismic data? This was the question posed by PGS MultiClient team in 2016 in regard to 12,000 line km of 2D data available in the western part of the Egyptian Mediterranean Province. And the answer from the imaging team was most certainly yes 👌. The subsequent reprocessing of the total 2D dataset resulted in tremendous image improvements and superior data quality 💪which has been acknowledged by most E&P companies prospecting in this part of the Mediterranean Sea. However, this was only the first step to pave the road for further activities. The second step followed in the period between 2016 and 2019 when PGS acquired more than 30,000 line km of new broadband GeoStreamer data⛵ and between 2020 to 2024 3D data was added by acquiring 35,000 sq km, significantly increased the data coverage in this province. The additional seismic coverage would not have been acquired had it not been for the initial reprocessing effort of the 2016 2D data, which clearly marked the beginning of a new chapter for us in this region. 🤝 The collaboration between EGAS and PGS was the key pillar for the success of this story, and hopefully we’ll hear more good news after drilling of 2 planned wells has been completed. Contact us today to learn more about how this data can benefit your exploration efforts.
