Meet Sophea Lim, Caddy Master at Vattanac Golf Resort, Phnom Penh Cambodia. Sophia is honored this month for the Troon Value: Genuinely Meticulous. She takes care in preparing her team and their guests to ensure daily success. Q: How did you get into golf/become a caddy? A: I have always enjoyed different sports like volleyball and I noticed on social media that there was a job opportunity at Vattanac Golf Resort, so I was naturally interested and saw it as a good opportunity to involve sport in my career. Q: How do you inspire other women to become a Caddy or Caddy Master? A: I like to explain the opportunities available to them when working at Vattanac Golf Resort, and how the training program will help them achieve their personal and professional goals. Many Caddies do not feel like they have many opportunities in life, so I like to show them that there is always room for career development regardless of their background. Q: This month, we celebrate Wellness, both for our associates and our guests. Caddying can be quite physical work; what are some stretches or exercises that you recommend for your caddies to do before starting a round with the guests? A: We encourage the team to stretch their legs before and after the round; it can make all the difference! Q: If a guest were to say to you, I only have 10 mins to warm up before my round, what do you recommend I do to warm up? A: I would say the most effective warm-up in a short time would be to get the body moving, and into similar positions that they need to achieve on the course. A few swings with 2 or 3 clubs together helps get the hips, arms and torso moving. If there are a few extra minutes, I would always recommend a short chipping session around the green to build some confidence before heading to the 1st tee. When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone? 🚧 I did when I took a vacation last week.🏖️ It may seem strange but let me explain! Recently, our team took an amazing trip to Cebu in the Philippines for some teambuilding and some much-needed R&R. It's time to do a reflection on this journey. During our trip, I decided to try some new activities at the age of 43. From swimming in the open ocean with sharks 🦈 to diving 12 meters into the depths for the first time... it was an incredible experience. I must admit… I had my own fears to overcome. 😱 Diving for the first time was daunting, especially since I typically use my nose to breathe when swimming and doing sports like soccer, and I had to learn how to use an oxygen tank. I had to practice and adapt, pushing through my initial fear. But this experience wasn’t just about diving…🤿 It was about demonstrating to my team that overcoming fear is possible with determination and practice. By facing these challenges head-on, I hoped to show the team that we are all capable of achieving great things when we support each other and push beyond our limits. How do you empower your team to take on new challenges? 🏋️ I would love to hear your experiences in the comments below! 👇 #comfortzone #courage #reflection #leadership #careers #entrepreneurship #personaldevelopment

Just had an incredible wakesurfing session in Dubai last week! 🏄♂️ The thrill of riding the waves was unbeatable. However, I learned a valuable lesson when I ended up getting sick from the strong AC afterward. This experience reminded me of some important parallels between wakesurfing and navigating the business world: •Expect the Unexpected: Just like how I didn't anticipate getting sick from the AC, unexpected challenges can arise in business. Being prepared to adapt and respond to unforeseen circumstances is crucial. •Balance is Key: Maintaining balance on a wakesurf board is just as important as balancing various aspects of business life. Whether it's managing work and health or professional and personal responsibilities, finding that equilibrium is essential. •Resilience in the Face of Setbacks: Falling ill was a setback, but it taught me resilience. In business, setbacks are inevitable, but how we bounce back and learn from them defines our path to success. •Health Matters: Just as ignoring the impact of AC led to getting sick, neglecting our well-being can affect our professional performance. Prioritizing health and well-being is vital for sustained success. •Learning and Adapting: Each wakesurfing session offers new lessons. Similarly, in business, continuous learning and adapting to new situations help us grow and improve. Life, like business, is full of waves—some exhilarating and some challenging. It's all about riding them with balance, resilience, and an open mind. Thanks Lucas Cureau for the session 🫡

Nature at its best, city life & digital detox. Being with mother nature is my best way to relieve the pressures of city life and the rat race. I also realized that this is how I grew up with my parents bringing us out during the holidays. Every time I go camping, it is like a tribute to my mother who was so actively involved with the Girl Guides Movement and became a commissioner during her working days as a teacher. She brought nature into me and the love of travelling and exploring. The experiences and learnings during a camping trip is a lot. From patience to compromises to emergencies to survival skills to event management. Never underestimate the camping activities. Yes it does come with a lot of sweat, backaches and sleep deprivation, however, I always will give up mall surfing for a camping trip. The learnings coming out of a simple camping trip can be far reaching in one's daily life and at work. It's like your own little team building. Hence, in any team building activities, a reflection of the event about the learning post team building is utmost important. Otherwise it'll just be another hoohaah event that just wasted your budget. "Let's Go Camping" #teambuilding #hrservices #experientiallearning
