Happy Short Blog Wednesday!
Jeff's Short (not quite a blog 👨🚀): Willie Nelson once said, “When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” I would say that’s true for me. Once I adopted an attitude of gratitude and abundance, great things followed. Life became limitless. I also believe that showing gratitude is an easy, yet very powerful, thing we can do for each other. Kindness spreads joy, and who doesn’t benefit from that? With an attitude for gratitude, have a Happy Thanksgiving! #CEGspaces #veteranowned #CommercialRealEstate #broker #BNI #AbsoluteConnections #CommercialRealEstateBlog #Thanksgiving #Grateful

Wolfpack, let’s talk about a quote that flipped my entire life upside down—in the best way possible. 🐺 C.S. Lewis once said, "Don’t shine so that others can see you. Shine so that THROUGH YOU, others can see Him." And let me tell you, THAT TRUTH came alive for me almost four years ago. This quote didn’t just impact me—it TRANSFORMED me. ☦️ When COVID hit, I lost a business that provided more financial security than I’ve ever seen since. A LIFE my wife and I had dreamed of for our kids crumbled. When that chapter closed, we went ALL-IN on a new venture together. We poured our HEARTS into it, only to watch it fail.😔 But you know what didn’t fail? Him. I hit rock bottom. But here’s the thing about rock bottom: it’s a SOLID PLACE to build. When we hit rock bottom, I finally SURRENDERED —FULLY. I gave it ALL to Jesus. My FAILURES, my PRIDE, my dreams... EVERYTHING. ♥️ And since then, He’s been guiding EVERY STEP. That SURRENDER led me to the U.S. Christian Chamber of Commerce, a place where I’m not just chasing success—I’m living out my PURPOSE and PASSION for Him. My wife might even call it an OBSESSION, and she’s not wrong. Jesus is my EVERYTHING. ☮️♥️ This isn’t about me. It’s about letting Him shine THROUGH ME, so others can see His glory. If you’re holding on to control, LET IT GO. Stop trying to shine for the world and let Him light THE WAY. Trust me, HE’S BETTER at it than you ever will be. 💥 So, Wolfpack, if LIFE’S knocking you down, don’t just get back up for yourself. Get up, LEAN INTO Him, and shine in a way that POINTS OTHERS to the Savior. 🙏🫶 #FeedTheGoodWolf #YOUvsYOU #ShineForHim #PurposeOverPlans #WolfpackKeepWinning

My personal coffee peddler Michael Klemmer made me wax a bit nostalgic after mentioning yesterday in a post what the Army actually did for him and why we vets should speak to the positives of military service. Couldn't agree more. At least in my case. Sure the negatives are there. They are everywhere. But the bridge in my journey to HERE was, in fact, the Army. Unlike in his case, my journey was that I NEEDED the Army. I was unfocused. I only cared about things that would never give me a career. A life. An opportunity. I was a bit of a hyperactive challenge. Changed my major at LEAST four times in college before dropping out. -The Army helped me finish that degree AND earn a Masters. Was broke as a joke with a pregnant wife. -Got bennies and a roof over our head. Didn't know what mission meant (outside the competition of sports). -The Army gave me the tools (more often than not) to learn to balance the good of my team while getting stuff done. Figuring it out. One of my favorite Army stories: First Sergeant: Steensgard, go cut the grass. PFC Steensgard: 1SG, roger that. Where is the lawn mower. 1SG: Don't have one. PFC Steensgard: 1SG, how can I cut the grass without a lawn mower. 1SG: Figure it out PFC. My first networking action. I knew Charlie Battery had a lawn mower and I knew the SPC in supply there because we played soccer on post together. He let me borrow the lawn mower, that didn't have gas and when I found gas, it wouldn't start. Had to fix it. And I did. Without the Army, I wouldn't be where I am today. Relatively successful and HAPPY. I learned to deal with the ups and downs of life. To stick to stuff even when I don't want to. To maintain good relationships with those who are important to me for a variety of reasons. I hadn't thought much about my Army years until Mike's post yesterday. So for the transitioning vets, you know and learned more than you'll ever realize...until YOU DO realize it. You'll have reminders everywhere. Don't discount them. The signs are part of how you are made up, of who you are. And it's a GOOD thing. Count your blessings and remember there's no finish line, only waypoints in your journey!

FourBlock Wednessday Spotlight: Building the Right Relationships! This week, our #VirtualWest Cohort dived into the pivotal topic of "Building the Right Relationships," with tremendous support from our community partners at MGM . A big shoutout to Justin Fronberg who was a one man army answer any and every question our Cohort had from him. He also kicked off our conversation on the power of strategic networking. Key Takeaways: 💡 Strategic Outreach: It’s not just about reaching out—it's about connecting with the right people who align with your professional aspirations. Targeted outreach can truly change the game. 💡 Informational Interviews: Use these conversations to gain insights, broaden your knowledge, and discover opportunities you might have missed. It’s a powerful tool for expanding your network. 💡 Follow-Up Matters: Building lasting relationships requires more than just an initial introduction. Remember to stay engaged, show appreciation, and nurture those connections over time. 💡 Networking for Success: It’s not about collecting contacts but cultivating genuine relationships that can support and guide your professional journey. Building meaningful connections is transformative in today’s professional world, and we are so grateful to MGM for exemplifying this impact. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated coaches Melody C., John Wojcik, Dixie Banner, Ging Yeung, MASSS • PMP • PMI-ACP • SMC and Joshua Moody for their unwavering support. Together, we are empowering our veterans to forge paths to success. Thank you to all who make these sessions possible! While Veterans Day in November is a special time to honor those who have served our country, at Trashco Inc., we believe in showing our gratitude all year long. Why limit our appreciation to just one day? Here are some simple, impactful ways we can honor our veterans every day: Support Veteran Businesses: Choose services and products from businesses owned by veterans. It not only helps them but also promotes the spirit of entrepreneurship among our heroes. Volunteer: Give your time to local veterans' shelters or organizations. These acts of service not only provide tangible help but also show our veterans they are never forgotten. Educate and Engage: Take time to learn about the challenges veterans face and engage in community discussions to foster awareness and solutions. Employment Opportunities: We strive to support veterans by considering them in our hiring processes, recognizing the unique skills and perspectives they bring to our workforce. Simply Say Thank You: A simple gesture of gratitude can go a long way. Whether it’s a handshake or a heartfelt note, thanking a veteran personally makes a difference. At Trashco, we are committed to these practices not just because it’s respectful but because it’s right. We stand with our veterans today and every day. Join us in making every day a day to honor our veterans. #VeteransEveryday #HonorAndServe #TrashcoCares
