🔔 Euro NCAP presents 7 Trucks for testing 🔔 Euro NCAP’s new Truck Safe programme is testing some of the biggest names in the heavy vehicle sector, showing safety can be profitable for the industry . With heavy vehicles accounting for only 3% of traffic on the road but involved in nearly 15% of EU road fatalities, safety has never been more critical. The first seven trucks to undergo testing are: 🔴 DAF XF 🔴 Iveco S-WAY 🔴 MAN TGX 🔴 Mercedes-Benz Actros 🔴 Renault Trucks T 🔴 Scania R-series 🔴 Volvo FH These models are leading the way and the very first to be put through Euro NCAP's new testing. Gaining a best-in-class safety award with a Euro NCAP star rating will mean huge gains for businesses: fewer accidents implying lower costs, increased operational efficiency, and lower insurance premiums. Safety is not just a compliance issue, it’s a business advantage. 💡 “Euro NCAP is creating a market for safety in the HGV sector – an environment where manufacturers know if they innovate and produce new and improved safety features, there is a mechanism that will ensure fleets and industry are incentivised. Euro NCAP will also provide harmonisation – a reduction in the demand and the variety of bespoke configurations or post-registration dealer fit systems. 🔔 European labs play a crucial role in truck-testing 🔔 Euro NCAP is working together with seven laboratories across Europe that include: 🔴 Applus+ IDIADA – Spain 🔴 AstaZero – Sweden 🔴 bast (Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen) – Germany 🔴 CSI S.p.A. – Italy 🔴 DEKRA – Germany 🔴 HORIBA MIRA – UK 🔴 UTAC – France to deliver on the goal of reaching Vision Zero with a safer truck sector. 🛣️🚚 "For our new Truck Safe Programme, Euro NCAP will provide a clear and concise rating that industry can firmly trust for its independence and business-relevant safety assessment. 🔔 Testing Begins for Euro NCAP’s New Truck Safe Rating 🔔 Testing has started in labs across Europe as Euro NCAP’s Truck Safe programme gets underway. The first scheme of its type for the sector, the programme is designed to address the disproportionate number of truck fatalities across Europe where trucks represent only 3% of vehicles on Europe’s roads but are involved in almost 15% of all EU road fatalities. 🚚🛠️ "In creating a market for safety, Euro NCAP aims to encourage manufacturers and suppliers to innovate, further increasing the safety benefits of the scheme as the ratings evolve.
