Truck drivers are not only the lifeblood of our economy, but an integral part of our daily lives. Countless American jobs depend on the hundreds of billions of miles that truckers drive. In addition, more than 80% of U.S. communities rely solely on trucking to deliver their goods and commodities.

Do you hear the call of the open road? For many people, becoming a truck driver provides a chance to enjoy a life they’ve always dreamed of by traveling across the country, setting their own schedules, and making good money — all without needing to spend years and thousands of dollars on a college degree. Truck drivers play an important role in the American economy. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than two million truck drivers in the U.S. The White House reports that 72% of American goods are shipped by truck, and according to the U.S. Department of Transportation, truck drivers contributed $204.2 billion to U.S. GDP in 2021 alone. The long-term outlook for the trucking industry is solid. Here's how to land a job behind the wheel of a big rig and how much you could make hauling freight.

So many reports on the economy and the freight recession over the past 18 months. Allot of data and intelligent input and research done being shared with all of us. Trucking companies will continue to shut down, but not at a clip fast enough to make an impact on supply & demand. We hate seeing this, for those companies that have been around and the impact it has on so many lives. Being a guy that started a business with one truck and the blood, sweat and tears it is heartbreaking. Bottom line the only way we are going to get trucking into better shape is by manufacturing to increase here in the US. We need to be highly aware of what we are buying and where it is manufactured. It is time to push the "Made in the USA" theme again. Feel like it has been lost for a few years. We need manufacturing to thrive here in the US. I challenge all of you to look at labels and focus more on our country, people and getting things into better shape for all of us. As trucking goes, so does our economy on a number of levels. USA....USA...USA #madeinamerica #trucking #truckingproz

📉 Decline in Truck Tonnage Index Continues The American Trucking Associations (ATA) reports a concerning trend in the trucking industry with a continuous decline in the For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index. Here's a detailed look at the recent figures: 🔹 April's Figures: The index fell by 1.2% in April, following a decrease of 2.2% in March. 🔹 Ongoing Decline: This reduction marks the 14th consecutive year-over-year decline, with a 1.5% drop compared to last April. 🔹 Economic Implications: These declines are indicative of broader economic pressures that are affecting freight volumes and reflecting possible shifts in consumer demand. 🔹 Industry Insight: Prolonged declines suggest that carriers might be facing underutilization, impacting revenue and operational efficiencies. #truckingjobs #truckingcompany #hmdtrucking

Take a look!!! A few thoughts from our perspective: 1. Still a lot of capacity out there. 2. Certain markets are doing ok, but anything consumer related is soft. 3. Trucking costs up 38% from 2020. Rates need to come up. Hang in there!!! https://lnkd.in/gHUKp8pT #WeAreATS #transportation #logistics #economy #truckingcosts #truckingstrong

If we compare road freight transport in China to the central arteries of its economy, truck drivers serve as the vital red blood cells. Yet, this critical group remains largely invisible. While society benefits from the convenience of logistics, the efforts of truck drivers seldom receive acknowledgment. Truck drivers handle 74% of freight volume and account for 31% of turnover, numbers that represent the sacrifices of countless individuals who wager their lives for sustenance. However, due to insufficient industry regulations and rampant malicious price competition, many drivers cannot earn wages that reflect their hard work. Consequently, an increasing number of truck drivers are choosing to leave the profession. A common adage among truck drivers resonates deeply: "If a person cannot return home, let the money go home." This statement embodies their poignant and heroic struggle. ROADWAY tires stands steadfast with millions of truck drivers, ensuring their safety through exceptional performance and providing the critical safety services they deserve, even as they remain the most diligent yet underappreciated members of society.
