New product: Savinelli 130th Anniversary Smooth Bent Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, 9mm, Unsmoked It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist. Like other extant historic makes, such as Peterson or Dunhill, Italy’s biggest pipe company knows that, in this day and age, such a company still going strong is something to be celebrated. This pipe was produced as part of a very limited series to mark 130 years since Savinelli’s founding, and I’d say it’s a pipe worthy of that occasion. For one thing, the design was not based on any standard Savinelli shape, instead being derived from unearthed sketches by Achille Savinelli way back when. Second, these pipes were carved from especially high quality, aged plateau briar, allowing for even more remarkable grain patterns than other high-grades in Savinelli’s catalog; third, the pipe was fitted with a sterling silver army mount, emblazoned with the Savinelli shield logo. This 130th Anniversary Savinelli wears a wine-red stain that still manages to show off some nice flame grain circling its bowl. It is also completely unsmoked and comes with its original sleeve. It is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s balsa filters, but should accommodate an adapter of some variety if the owner prefers using it without filters. If you would like a complimentary adapter with this pipe, please speak with us before purchasing. Details: Length: 5.6″ / 142.2mm Bowl Width: 0.79 / 20.06mm Bowl Depth: 1.58″ / 40.13mm Weight: 1.4oz / 42g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/MXa36M #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

How long will it take for a premium hand-made kitchen knife? One and half minute in the video, but a couples week by an experienced kitchen knife craftsman; That is why a good hand-made knife always accompanied by a high price; Because the handmade knife reflects the craftsman's rich knife-making experience and persistence in perfect products in every detail; this is also a level that mass-produced knives cannot reach; However, for most users, the ultimate cost-effectiveness is the biggest reason for choosing a product; Therefore, how to control the quality and every detail of the product to the greatest extent at the lowest cost in the mass production of knives, and how to integrate the spirit of knife craftsmen into every product are the question we have been thinking about; We know we are not perfect, but we have been thinking, changing, and improving; Looking forward to cooperating with you, creating together, growing together, and winning together; This is Quinn, the product manager from Tuobituo, nice to meet you! :) #customknife #handmade #oem #kitchenknife

New product: Savinelli Oscar Elite 320 KS Bent Author Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates, 6mm It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist. There is a lot to like about this particular Savinelli. One is its scarcity; the Oscar Elite is not a line that Savinelli manufactures anymore. I have my own theory as to why, with part of this connecting to my next reason. Unlike most contemporary Savinellis, the Oscar Elite has an ebonite stem, which Savinelli today reserves for their highest-grade pipes (the Elite’s successor, the currently-produced Oscar Lucite has, as can be imagined, a Lucite acrylic stem). This Elite has excellent grain patterns – which I presume contributed to its namesake – with plenty of fiery flame grain around the bowl and bird’s-eyes hiding on the base. The pipe also features a very natural, light brown stain, which accentuates its grain patterns. Finally, the pipe is a 320KS model, Savinelli’s rendition of the classic author shape, which, if I remember right, is the make’s most popular shape. Its wide bowl is perfect for ribbon cuts and mixtures, allowing a blend’s varietals to meld easily during a smoke. The condition is great. There are one or two worn out fills, and there’s some minor, inner rim darkening, but these are superficial imperfections. The pipe is chambered for 6mm filters, such as Savinelli’s balsa filters, but can also be used without one. Details: Length: 5.4″ / 137.1mm Bowl Width: 0.92 / 23.36mm Bowl Depth: 1.32″ / 33.52mm Weight: 2.2oz / 64g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/7UKUuu #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

Number 1. A piece of damask fabric. Not perfect but I am working on polishing the fabric 'noising', baking, and rendering workflows. For this texture, I used the principle described in the recent post: https://lnkd.in/gFHfSX45. Instead of creating individual meshes for yarns (like I did here: https://lnkd.in/dcMEDBE2), I tiled the yarn height map along the curves. This allowed me to generate a texture with a width equivalent to 1000 yarns. While not necessary in most cases, it can be beneficial for patterns with a large area of the unit, such as this one. The pattern itself was taken from the 16th-century embroidery pattern book. PS: I know that it's not -even- day anymore, but there is no beginning of the rendering challenge without rendering issues, haha.
