What makes a good fractional hire? I've had several conversations this week with businesses looking to either hire fractionally. So here's my take on what makes a good fractional hire. Fractional doesn't really mean fractional - If you get someone good, they'll deliver (or over deliver) the role you need fulfilling Hyper-focused - when you're on the clock there's no time for meetings you don't really need to be in, or dare I say it - office politics 🤦 No management - Good fractional people are pretty good at knowing what they need & finding it, so you shouldn't need to spend loads of time onboarding or handholding. Focused on delivering quickly - You need to show results quickly so ensuring there's weekly/monthly milestones with delivery against them gives everyone confidence. Honesty - Our careers are built on reputation, so the good fractional people I know (and I include myself here) will always say if there's a better/cheaper/quicker solution.
