Inspired by anti-fascist organizing in the 1940s, a group of progressive Jewish activists have formed the Jewish Council of Australia. Its goal is to challenge the hegemony of right-wing, Zionist groups that claim to speak for all Jewish Australians. More in The Jacobin #auspol > https://loom.ly/4va7GcE

Peter Beinart at his best. Insightful, intellectually incsive and thought provoking. This piece operates on so many levels. The first, and obvious one (Beinart's usual area of commentary), is for American Jews and the tensions between liberalism and zionism. But Beinart also raises an important and difficult question that we have a responsibility to consider. Those of us committed to solidarity for Palestine, what vision do we have for Jews who live in Israel/occupied Palestine? Will a "free Palestine" - one that I sincerely hope to see in my lifetime - belong to all who live in it today? Difficult to talk about this when Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza, but very important for consider this question as we ponder the future. Will the growing movement for a free Palestine succeed in building inclusive politics? It will need to overcome the brutality of zionism and the legacy of Arab nationalisms which often led to exclusionary politics. I, for one, hope that a Free Palestine movement will manage to offer a radical re-thinking of inclusion. https://lnkd.in/ezjmKE2f

Zionism is a secular political movement... The zionist leaders are godless but used the Bible to rally the Jews into this ideology...because the narrative fitted nicely. Supporters of zionism can be Jews, Christians, Muslims and others. They don't have to change their faith externally but internally they subscribe to the tenets of zionism. They are generally members of the Masonry organizations. There are 12 tribes of Semitic Jews... but the Ashkenazi Jews that originated from Eastern Europe were non-Semitic atheists who embraced Judaism or married into the Jewish community. They make up the majority leadership of the Zionist organization and leadership of Israel. That is why Zionism has nothing to do with Judaism. It is a deviant sect of the original Judaism. Whatever actions that they do (murder, lies, oppression, rape, etc.) are opposite of the Torah.
All views expressed are my own. I am accepting all connection requests from people who are standing up for the injustices currently taking place in Palestine and around the world.
“The Jewish community is not one monolithic block. A lot of us are anti-Zionist and people need to realise that going back generations Zionism is not the creed followed by all Jews, far from it. Marek Edelman, leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943, said that ‘Jews should always be with the oppressed and never with the oppressor.' For a section of the population whose history is steeped in persecution, the fact that people with that history should identify with the oppressed in every setting seems self-evident to us and that’s where our support for justice for Palestinians comes in”

I love this Jewish woman ❤️ What would you do if someone stole your house & livelihood, killed some of your family, & left the rest of you with nothing, to live in the squalor of a refugee camp? That is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, over 250,000 since 1967, & MORE EVERY YEAR – simply because they are not Jewish. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes & farms where Israeli cities & towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Most even still have their front door keys. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/geiy3_5s, 2) https://lnkd.in/gBV8ipGy, 3) https://lnkd.in/g6726cMj And how can anyone claim that this conflict started on October 7th when between 2000 & Oct 2023, Israeli soldiers & settlers killed nearly 2300 Palestinian children, including 43 children during the 9 months just before Oct 7th (names & details on BTselem.org). Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, & a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005 - both illegal under international law, immoral, & ongoing acts of war. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSYf7exV, 2) https://lnkd.in/gvXiS65k, 3) https://lnkd.in/g2rANpCA, 4) https://lnkd.in/gaZSz8PX And when Palestinians have tried to protest peacefully, Israel shoots them in the knees, kills, or at least imprison & beat them. If you don't believe it, please read this 2020 Haaretz article titled: “42 Knees in One Day: Israeli Snipers Open Up About Shooting Gaza Protesters”: https://lnkd.in/g4VqQRzs And if you still believe the lie that Israel has offered Palestinians many generous peace deals that they keep rejecting, please read this article: https://lnkd.in/g2_EV6dV And now our government is actually helping Israel commit genocide. According to our own U.S. military, Israel has killed OVER 25,000 WOMEN & CHILDREN in the past 5 months: https://lnkd.in/gtQtw9zc Can you imagine how big a pile of 25,000 dead mothers & children would be? Well our taxes are helping pay for it & it’s getting bigger every day. Israel has also orphaned over 30,000 children, & has demolished the homes of around 1 million children, making them homeless during winter. And Israel is still blocking aid to these children, KILLING THEM WITH STARVATION, DEHYDRATION, & DISEASE, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs. Israeli & Jewish-American sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSZVTaDY, 2) https://lnkd.in/gYpkU3ah, 3) https://lnkd.in/gErBF5hY, 4) https://lnkd.in/gavyg7E9, 5) https://lnkd.in/gWscBWrC PLEASE WRITE & CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES & the White House to demand they stop helping Israel kill & starve children, commit war crimes, & maintain its brutal & racist apartheid, with our tax dollars & U.N. veto protection. And here is University of Chicago Prof. John Mearsheimer explaining why our government does whatever #Israel wants: m.com/watch?v=syB9THtXd7M

Daniella Weiss: The Modern Face of Settler Extremism Daniella Weiss, a prominent figure in Israel’s far-right settler movement, embodies the worst of settler colonialism in the West Bank. Her racist, ultra-nationalist rhetoric reveals a deep contempt for Palestinians, advocating for the complete annexation of the West Bank and the removal of its Arab population. Weiss’s ideology, grounded in religious extremism, mirrors the worst of 20th-century fascism. Like Himmler and Heydrich, she seeks ethnic domination, perpetuating a vision where only Jewish settlers thrive while Palestinian rights are systematically erased. Weiss’s history of violent incitement is extensive. In 2007, she led efforts to create illegal settlements in the West Bank, urging followers to seize Palestinian land by force if necessary. Arrested multiple times for obstructing police officers, Weiss’s legal troubles highlight her defiance of the Israeli state’s efforts to curb settler violence. Her radical group, Nachala, which promotes the establishment of illegal outposts, has consistently clashed with the law, pushing an agenda that undermines peace efforts. This extremist vision, driven by Weiss’s rhetoric, not only echoes fascist-era ideologies but actively contributes to destabilizing the region. It fosters an environment of aggression, where the destruction of Palestinian homes and the denial of their human rights are celebrated as victories. Her continued push for “Arab-free” areas in the West Bank is a blatant endorsement of ethnic cleansing, fueling violence and increasing division in one of the world’s most volatile regions. This rhetoric has real consequences: Weiss’s words and actions have encouraged settler violence, leading to a sharp rise in attacks on Palestinians in recent years. Her influence is widespread, with thousands of settlers emboldened to take aggressive action against Palestinian civilians under the guise of “redeeming” the land for Israel. The lessons of history seem lost on Weiss and her followers. Instead of building bridges or promoting coexistence, they aim to re-ignite ancient hatreds and perpetuate suffering. Weiss’s racist and inhumane vision is a stark reminder that the ideologies of the past can still find fertile ground if left unchecked. #EndSettlerColonialism #StopRacistViolence #PalestinianRights #NeverAgain

This insightful article was written before Israel’s genocide in Gaza began but is foretelling in its analysis. It explains Zionism’s increasingly extremist, supremacist violence towards Palestinian resistance to cololonisation and how it must be overcome for there to be a just peace. The author explains: “That Palestinians continue to exist, resist, claim the right of return to their homeland and the right of self-determination (regardless of how the hegemonic media construct resistance and portray it to the world), and refuse the legitimacy of Jewish supremacy is a reminder that Israel’s existence is not secure. Therefore, no matter how many major military campaigns Israel undertakes against the Palestinians, no matter how many hundreds of thousands it pushes out, the tens of thousands it kills, and the hundreds of thousands it wounds, arrests or tortures, the Palestinians continue to be perceived as a major threat. The Palestinians, with their resilience, keep reminding the Israelis of the fact that their state and its ongoing expansion is built on the Palestinian homeland and that they will not stop seeking self-determination, including their right of return.” He also remarks: “That Jews were victims in Europe obscures for many Zionists the truth of what they were and are doing to the natives and provides for others the dubious moral justification to take the land of another nation.” He gives an ominous warning: “Zionism, speaking in the name of the Jewish people, has destined its followers to be part of a process that can lead to further dispossession and to forms of violence that we may not yet have seen, in the hopeless goal of maintaining exclusive rights in Palestine and crushing native resistance.” For the past six months, we have witnessed genocide in Gaza as Zionism marches toward further supremacist, violent extremism. The solution requires a future without Zionism: “…a vision that is the opposite of Zionism: inclusivity for Palestinian and Israeli Jews, a common homeland, a shared future, national rights for all, total equality, ending Jewish supremacy, and forms of political arrangement that can provide these defining principles. This vision should also offer Israeli Jews the safety that Zionism sought, but without the privileges and supremacy conferred under Zionism.”

Whether we like it or not, Israel’s government is perceived as the face of Zionism and Jewish nationhood. Thus, when the current government scorns humanism, freedom, and the sanctity of life, it is endangering Israel and all Jews alike. Therefore, we must work together. Our shared fate is urging the Jewish leaders of the diaspora and liberal Israeli leaders to change the political reality in Israel. We need all hands on deck in this historic time. Let us create a better government for Israel, one that is Jewish AND Democratic. https://lnkd.in/ezqTdS9x

https://lnkd.in/gitfmJHX All Jews agree on one thing…that all Jews never agree. At any Jewish gathering around the world, you’ll hear heated debates on food, religion, culture, and everything in between. Politics are no different, but the debate is louder. After the October 7th terrorist attack, prior to Israel’s ground operation in Gaza, the true sentiment of the left towards Jews was exposed. Protests on college campuses, airports, freeways, bridges, outside synagogues, and Holocaust museums forced Jewish Americans to face a stark reality. Leftists and their Muslim allies were exposed not only as anti-Israel but as plainly anti-Jewish groups. Mobilizing under the guise of liberation (“From the River to the Sea”), and civil rights (“justice” in Palestine), one thing became increasingly clear – for a large coalition of leftists and Muslims in America, Jews have no right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland and deserve no safety anywhere.
