For an extended period, my fundamental human rights have been withheld: the right to live, to eat, to be recognized, and to father my children. I have endured denial, blackmail, and unfounded allegations. Nevertheless, I continue to resist being overwhelmed by falsehoods and deception. Despite the internal agony, I refuse to let it become my encumbrance. Instead, I find liberation in expressing myself, and sharing my emotions with those open to listening and observing. The United States Corporation has mischaracterized me, applying labels such as Negro, black, colored, African American—terms confined to a racial context. Recognizing my native ties to this land, I have validated this reality, notifying the United States Corporation of my rejection of their mislabeling and declining any further contract or guardianship, whether known or unknown. Currently unemployed, I collect cans and plastic to sustain myself and my children. I am able to earn up to $99 before being compelled to produce a state ID, which would strip me of my nationality and involuntarily bind me to servitude. While this reality brings profound sorrow, I will not allow it to conquer me. I stand resolute on my ancestors' age-old tenets, reclaiming what is justly ours. I refuse to give in to intimidation. Steadfast as a tree by the water, those of us committed to freedom will not cease until it prevails. We advocate for love, genuine peace, freedom, and justice to uplift humanity and promote self-reliance.
stand on love truth peace freedom, and justice.

🇮🇳 What does it truly mean to celebrate freedom today? 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫, or are we reflecting on the deeper significance of what it means to be free? Where are we as humans on the path of brotherhood, sisterhood.. the human-hood? Are we really honoring the principles of ‘being human’, unity and solidarity, or have we become indifferent to the struggles of others? 🌎 When we speak of freedom, do we consider the freedom from indifference, the freedom to care deeply, and the freedom to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves? Have we lost sight of our shared humanity in the hustle of modern life, or can we still find the strength to reach out and make a difference? 👉 As we celebrate freedom today, let’s ask ourselves: Are we truly free if we are still in chains of fear, injustice, poverty, or hate? ❓How can we break these chains and create a world where everyone’s freedom is celebrated, respected, and protected 🫡 Happy Independence Day !

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally/internationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond. Today Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas, a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of maturity and dignity in America long over due. In cities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. Sensitized to the conditions and experiences of others, only then can we make significant and lasting improvements in our society. General Order Number 3 One of General Granger’s first orders of business was to read to the people of Texas, General Order Number 3 which began most significantly with: "The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired laborer." General Gordon Granger, June 19th 1865 in Galveston, Texas

As many people around the world spent this past weekend and today celebrating the life and global impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with acts of service, activism, protest and demanding justice for all, many power-hoarding people around the world will take this day to twist Dr. King’s words, to use them to their advantage and to maintain the status quo. Dr. King’s quote below resounds as loud today as it did when he wrote it from Birmingham city jail, especially for those of us living in what we call canada today, where being polite is praised over fighting for justice, where you hear the phrase: “good thing we are not like the US'', while we witness: 🔻Multiple genocides happening around the world (Palestine, Congo, Sudan and many more) done with our taxes or in the name of “progress”; 🔻The continuous displacement of Indigenous communities of their lands and their rights 🔻misogyny as Indigenous women in what we now call Canada “are 400% more likely than other [people in Canada] to go missing. 🔻police brutality, the health system, academia and many other systems hurting the Black community; 🔻homophobia and transphobia being enacted in provincial policy, school boards, etc. 🔻ableism, patriarchy, white supremacy and capitalism hurting us all. 🔻Canada is constantly placing itself as a “defender” of human rights while not actively supporting Palestinian people fighting for their freedom, women in Iran, Afghanistan, and other countries that are fighting for their human rights. * (we know this is not an exhaustive list; many more systems of oppression are at play) Many of us so-called “liberals” and “progressives” are still unsure how to move in community and honour intersectionality to achieve the liberation of all of us. Today, we invite you all to reflect on the words of Dr. King and ask yourselves: -Do I prefer a negative peace, which is the absence of tension or a positive peace, which is the presence of justice? -How do I benefit from negative peace? -How would we all benefit from positive peace? -What will I sacrifice to achieve positive peace and work for our collective liberation? #Quotes #MLKDay #Community #Intersectionality #CollectiveImpact #CollectiveLiberation

Honoring the Legacy of El Hajj Malik Shabazz The struggle for human and civil rights did not end in the 20th century within the borders of the United States. This ongoing fight spans the globe, from China and the Middle East to Africa and Europe. Throughout history, individuals who have resisted extremist ideologies born from colonialism, apartheid, and settler colonialism have faced dehumanization, wrongful labeling as terrorists, or even death. Among these brave souls was Malcolm X, who ultimately paid with his life for challenging this oppressive system. Today, we honor #MalcolmXDay by celebrating the legacy of a leader who tirelessly fought against racial, religious, and ethnic oppression. Malcolm X's unwavering dedication to justice and equality continues to inspire movements against all forms of apartheid and aggression. By remembering his powerful advocacy for human rights, we reaffirm our commitment to dismantling systemic racism and creating a world where diversity is embraced and every individual is treated with dignity and respect. Let us continue his mission by challenging discrimination, promoting unity, and fostering understanding within global communities. #MalcolmXDay #FightOppression #HumanRights #EqualityForAll

These words from the poetic statement on the Statue of Liberty stand in #liberal defiance of how many so-called #Americans now define #patriotism. the "I've Got Mine" ideology behind "Make America Great Again" denies the #history and #tradition upon which this #nation was founded and affirmed as a #refuge and protector for the #world. It's not a surprise that people no longer respect these words. Even #Christianity in its #nationalism version turns its back on the needy, the poor, and literally, the huddled masses. Instead, we have leaders mocking and denigrating #migrants and #citizens of this country because they abide in the #light of #liberty for all. It is #hypocritical to claim to be #American and then focus all attention on identifying people as "the other." No one is safe from that #fascist approach. And when people defend themselves from being targets of #political #hate, they get blamed for engaging in #identity #politics, or having an "agenda," when in fact most are simply asking for #equalrights and being denied these basic #rights through #judicial #activism, #voter #suppression, #discrimination, #racism, #gender and #orientation #prejudice. If the words on the Statue of Liberty are true, and they used to be, then half of America is heading in the wrong direction, and seemingly proud of it. #MAGA is not American.
