“When seconds count, ignorance can be deadly”. . . . In a meeting recently, I heard a compelling story that truly hit home about the critical need for emergency awareness. . . . A woman recounted how her daughter was almost fatally electrocuted while using an electric coil cooker. The daughter, unaware of the danger, accidentally touched the coil and was immediately gripped by a live current, unable to let go. Her mother, paralyzed by fear and unsure of what to do, could only scream for help. Just in time, her husband arrived. Seeing the danger, he grabbed a plastic chair, looped it around their daughter, and yanked her free from the current. She fell unconscious but soon regained consciousness, all thanks to his quick thinking. . . . Reflecting on this, it’s clear: ignorance in emergencies can be lethal and there should be more awareness and education on some life skills. Here’s what everyone should know about handling electrocution: 1. Avoid direct contact with the victim if they’re still in contact with the electrical source. 2. Cut the power if you can do so safely or use a non-conductive object like wood or plastic to separate them from the current. 3. Call emergency services immediately. 4. Perform CPR if the person isn’t breathing or is unconscious, continuing until professional help arrives. 5. Keep the person still and warm while waiting for emergency responders. Knowledge of these steps could mean the difference between life and death. I’m just imagining if the woman’s husband didn’t know what to do also… . . . Let’s make it our mission to educate ourselves and others on these lifesaving measures. Remember, safety isn't just for the experts—it's everyone's responsibility. Happy Weekend guys🤩 #SafetyAwareness #LifeSkills #EmergencyPreparedness #Healthcare #TGIF

🔥Hot summer temperatures like today can pose some safety hazards. Here are some tips for keeping kids safe for the remainder of summer! Check out our blog for more. ⬇️ ☀️Keep Hydrated and Cool - Many children with special needs can be more susceptible to heat-related conditions. Certain medications can cause dryness in the mouth, increase sensitivity to the sun, or impair the body's ability to perspire or regulate temperature. Be sure to ask your doctor or pharmacist if the medications you or your child take have warnings about sun exposure. https://ow.ly/J4Im50SQ7vh

It's the rainy season, it's that time when everywhere gets muddy, the floor gets slippery, and accident rate increases. As much as we are praying against evil these things are bound to happen if we do not take precautions. Uncle, Aunty reduce your high speed. Nobody is after your precious life, take your time till you get to your destination, if not begin your journey earlier. For our bicycle and tricycle lovers, the same applies to you. Let me even ask you reading this, if someone falls off a bicycle and hits his head on the stone and begins to bleed. Would you know what to do? You will take him to the hospital I guess, that's correct but as that's going on. What if you could at least do something to increase his survival rate, do something to reduce the blood loss before he gets to the hospital? In less than an hour, we shall begin our training "Empower to save a life". It's here to equip you on how to handle emergencies when they occur as you wait for professionals to do their thing. Statistics have shown us how emergency preparedness and responses have saved more lives.
