Amongst teachers, parents, and policymakers, there is a common goal: ensuring the well-being and success of our children / students. Yet, one critical aspect often overlooked is the quality of the air they breathe within school walls. Ventilation isn't just about air circulation; it's about creating environments where students can thrive. Adequate ventilation reduces the spread of airborne contaminants, fostering healthier spaces that promote learning and productivity. Unfortunately, many schools lack proper ventilation systems, putting students and staff at risk of respiratory illnesses and hindering academic performance. It's time to prioritize investments in ventilation infrastructure to safeguard our children's health and academic success. By enhancing school ventilation, we can create environments where students feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn. Let's take action today to ensure that every child has access to a healthy learning environment for a brighter tomorrow. We at WOLF 🐺 recognise this need and I am glad that the CGL-2 edu is such a success on at the Aquatherm in Prague, presented by our partner Wolf Slovenská republika and Wolf Česká republika Together, let's breathe life into learning.

⛰️“When I go hiking, I leave no trace. You don't leave anything behind, you don't leave any footprint, or any impact on the environment." 👩⚕️ Meiling Zhou, a nurse consultant at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and a recent recipient of The University of Melbourne's Wattle Fellowship, says her passion for hiking has led her to co-designing waste solutions in the nursing simulation lab. 💬 “We know that students, particularly healthcare students, are becoming more aware of climate change, planetary health and sustainability, and they want to have sustainability in healthcare as a part of their curriculum. But currently there are no real recommendations about the best way to approach this." ♻️ "Firstly, we're hoping to develop a prototype of how to make our simulation labs more sustainable. The large amount of waste is often created in these simulated environments, so we’re trying to reduce this using a co-design process.” Read more about Meiling's story 👉 https://unimelb.me/3QAZmct 🎟️ Join us for a special healthcare sustainability event on Tuesday 14 May, First do no harm: Is sustainable healthcare the prescription for the future? 👉 https://unimelb.me/3ydgpep

With the seismic shifts brought by COVID-19, schools are redefining their roles and embracing collaborations like never before. Keedar’s presentation delved into the critical need to harness the potential of partnerships with external entities to advance our educational mission. From community organizations to industry experts, the influx of visitors into our schools presents both challenges and opportunities. Through an engaging workshop, Keedar outlined four pivotal objectives aimed at maximizing the symbiotic relationship between schools and their partners. It’s not merely about adapting; it’s about thriving in this new educational ecosystem. At Educators Now, we remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering schools and educators with the tools and insights needed to navigate these dynamic times. Cities need lighting plans for reducing the negative impact of artificial lighting on public health. The presentation of the URBACT Cities After Dark network at the ENLIGHTENme Project training in Bologna was the opportunity for discovering the action combining civic engagement and scientific research carried out in the Savena area, which was targeted by a study on the impact of artificial lighting on people's health. Together with Amsterdam and Tartu, Bologna is promoting an innovative approach aimed at researching how lighting can be connected to quality of life. Acting on light for reducing socio-economic discrepancies and for enhancing the right to the city for all at day and night is a forward-looking approach that deserves to be replicated with innovative local policies but also improving national and EU regulations

If you want a quick dose of inspiration, you can visit the website here: https://lnkd.in/ecvMkCU3 2) The prizes galvanise governments and ministers who celebrate the shortlisted schools in their countries: they discover excellence and innovation under their noses 3) The prizes act as a catalyst to share best practice, demonstrate what is possible in some of the most challenging circumstances and encourage innovation. They demonstrate what is possible. 4) The prizes recognise brilliant schools and teachers and encourage others to reach for the stars as well. The reaction of students when they hear that their school has been shortlisted is a joy to watch. 5) Best of all, you can vote for the world’s best school in different categories by following the link above.
