I found this article to be extremely fascinating on where the industry is in preparation for FSMA rule 204, it's safe to say that food companies need to be well on their journey to achieve compliance. What would be especially interesting would be to conduct an anonymous survey of the industry to understand where organizations are on this journey- I would expect that those tech-forward organizations are much closer to compliance than the rest of the industry as a whole! #FSMA204

FSMA 204 enhanced traceability record-keeping can be a challenge. Make sure your company has the information they need to ensure compliance.
Modernizing traceability in food safety is going to take a lot of things, including communication, planning, and data. Lots of it. The final rule requires firms that handle Food Traceability List (FTL) items to collect Key Data Elements (KDEs) at specific points along the supply chain, known as Critical Tracking Events (CTEs), and supply this information to supply chain partners. This data-driven approach is what will enable impact, accuracy, and efficiency in supply chain traceability — a powerful engine in a very big machine. It’s also not an approach that can be universalized, which means firms will have to fit the pieces together themselves.
