7-Day Countdown! 🚀 DAY 3 I’ve got 10,000 Clay credits to use by October 17th, so I’m putting them to work across 7 different projects. Day 3️⃣ / 7️⃣: Helping my brother break into the aviation industry as a TIG welder. Classic case for Clay: Navigate the job market 🔍 Tracking down companies actively hiring TIG welders in aviation. 🧑💼 Zeroing in on the right contacts ✉️ Grabbing emails for direct outreach There are so many different titles to call the managers of TIG Welders. I created a long list of possibilities, as well as a long list of possible job titles besides 'TIG Welder'. Then I prayed that my hands would not tire from constantly resetting Clay's columns every time they slid in reaction to something. (What's up with that automatic jump?) __________________________ Credit update: Luckily, I have a client project using up many Clay credits 🤓, new countdown number in the 7k range!

Becoming a good welder requires a combination of skills, knowledge, and training. One of the important aspect is manual dexterity - the ability to use tools and equipment with precision. They also need to have mechanical aptitude and understand how objects fit together in three dimensions. Welding can be a rewarding career, but it's important to consider both the potential benefits and challenges. Welders can earn competitive wages, especially with experience and certification. However, it can be physically demanding, requiring strength, stamina, and good hand-eye coordination. In AIG, welders are our pillar of strength. We have rigorous hiring process that includes assessments of technical skills, certifications, and experience. Only welders who meet or exceed industry standards and AIG's specific requirements are considered for employment. We also invest in ongoing training and development for welders to maintain their skills and adapt to new technologies. #welding #welder #skilledworker

Texas is sometimes referred to as the welding capital of the United States. It’s not because they’re paying welders so much more in Texas. But it is because of how many jobs there are to go around in this big state. Over 50,000 welders are currently employed across Texas, more than any other state in the country. With more than four welding jobs available out of every 1,000 total jobs in the state, it’s pretty easy to find gainful employment as a welder in Texas. But within Texas, Houston is a hotbed for welding careers. Houston is a major city with over 2.3 million residents. That’s a lot of people to keep employed, and six out of every thousand jobs available in this city is for a welder to claim. That works out to more than 18,000 welding jobs within this 669-square-mile city. This means most welders should have no problem finding a job here, and with an annual salary that’s $5,740 above the national average, you’ll be well compensated for the hours you invest. #welding #welders #welder #savedbywelding #fitters

Even a welder helper is expected to read and comprehend production drawings, use math, and computers, as well as maintain a clean and orderly working area at all times. We had integrated these expectations into our welding courses from day one of our Welding curriculum at Triton College so students take these hire-critical skills seriously across all the courses. We have it integrated to this day. Only in application, especially in the welding lab, do the students see the "why", from understand 5S principals, to blueprints and math, all in practice, not just something covered in lecture and/or a separate course. Simply running beads, the old '1980 model' of welding instruction, does not cut it in today's world. Instructors stuck in this mindset need to get unstuck!
