The progress of AI may be fascinating in itself but implementing such a system in business activities involves discovering its limits and biases. ChatGPT and Copilot to name the most notorious, don't behave the same nor give the same output. We have had to learn how to write prompts for each, in a field were we had enough expertise to see their biases and limits, before using either in confidence to automate or facilitate some of our activities. Then it is great: fast, painless and reliable BioMire's #Pixa AI system for counting and characterizing #microbial colonies growing on a surface is still young when it comes to naming bacteria based on their colony shape, color, borders etc. as well as an expert. It counts colonies better, faster than any human, can differentiate molds from yeast from bacteria and recognize morphological differences. Its training involves images from users, on real samples, with environmental #microorganisms with are sometimes stressed, using less than perfect images taken in all sorts of plant-floor situations.
