India's emerging hubs are buzzing. If you watch Shark Tank , you will know that there is no dearth of skill and creativity in these cities and towns. Enthusiasm and attitude is extremely positive. The same has been shaping the IT-BPM industry and the stories of impact are incredible. We met some of our industry leaders last week to talk about how they have built high quality teams in these locations which are serving global clients - matching the highest quality SLAs and shattering stereotypes. Organisations, big or small have benefited immensely from this strategy. I want to thank Sanjay Puria, Mythily Ramesh, Arjun RamarajuShailesh Narwaiye, Keerthi Kumar , and Raja V for sharing their experiences, tips and advice on how to make this a winning strategy for your organizations. #emerginghubs

McKinsey India's chairman Rajat Dhawan should immediately resign and put up a video holding his ears and apologising. He should say it loud that he sold himself. That still wouldn't be enough.
Have always heard of the work pressure at business consulting firms. Still don't understand why would anyone pay these "experts" to fix business problems. At least, I won't. Mera business mujhe pata hai. I won't hire any of these firms where humans are robots. I'd rather build a product that would do the job for me if at all I need any help.
The guy who died was young and talented. He deserved a better workplace and a good life. I can't imagine what might have gone through his mind when he decided to take this step, but it's really sad and unfortunate.
That 30LPA or 50LPA package couldn't save him. Now, they'd say he couldn't handle the pressure. They'd say others did and they got habituated. They'd say, he was weak. He wasn't. The others aren't brave either. They're all dealing with this shit to live a life they have imagined and provide for their family.
I really hope the right people are in power in the next few years. There's a serious need for a regulatory committee in India that would look after toxic workplaces and take action against them.
There's also a desperate need to build Indian companies and firms. Because we're not the servants of any country. Never were. Never will.

With so many use cases for #GenAI, organizations are realizing the ideas and value potential each employee brings to the table. And the ones that will win the #AI race are the ones that can tap into this potential.
Proud to be among those who are taking the conversation beyond productivity or financial gains, focusing instead on employee and customer satisfaction, societal impact, and creating new business models. #innovation

Fascinating HFS "GenAI" roundtable last week in NYC supported by Genpact and led by HFS' Phil Fersht and Saurabh Gupta. We explored the extent to which the conversation around #GenAI is moving towards value (and not stuck on "productivity"). Many thanks to all the OneCouncil members / participants from some of NYCs biggest enterprises for taking part. Also thanks to Sanjay Srivastava and Harsh Kar from Genpact for sharing their insights. Hey LinkedIn fam! Just participated in an exhilarating #HFS#GenAI roundtable with digital transformation and AI wizards from diverse industries, and guess what? We're all singing the same tune! The challenges we're facing are strikingly similar, and it got me thinking about the essence of this tech journey we're all on.
Surrounded by brilliant minds last week, it hit me – we're all at a crossroads, seeking guidance to propel our organizations into a future driven by tech. It's not just about adopting the latest tech trends; it's about refining the prerequisites for a tech revolution.
In our pursuit of digital excellence, we honed in on three robust pillars: People, Process, and Data. Let me break it down for you:
People 🤝: The human touch remains irreplaceable. Our tech journey is not just about machines; it's about empowering and upskilling our teams. A digitally tuned workforce is our secret sauce.
Process 🔄: Envision your organization as a well-oiled machine. For tech to seamlessly integrate, our processes have to be streamlined and standardized or in other words "upgraded". It's not just about having AI; it's about infusing it into the essence of our operations.
Data 📊: The unsung hero of our digital saga. Quality data is the currency that fuels AI. It's not just about collecting data; it's about curating, analyzing, and strategically leveraging it. This should be supported with robust governance to ensure that data is not just harnessed but managed responsibly, ethically, and securely.
So, what's the golden nugget we unearthed? Amidst the whirlwind of technology, don't forget about your team, how you do things, the data you have, and how you take care of it. They're not mere checkboxes; they're what will drive your tech journey. Invest in your team, streamline processes, and treat data like the crown jewels.
Let's keep this conversation going! What's your take on these tech essentials? I am sure you must have similar thoughts and faced similar challenges in your journey. Feel free to share your experience and insights. Together, we're not just navigating – we're shaping the future of tech!

Thank you Anika Mohla, Editor at ET Insights for speaking with me about consulting firms and how firms are offering unique value propositions to their clients.
It was also an opportunity to reflect upon Protiviti India Member Firm’s successful decade in the country that saw us growing from just about 1.5 offices in 2014 to 12 offices today, and from 152 employees to over 3,500.
The journey has had its share of challenges. However, our collaborative approach to solving client problems has set us apart. Looking ahead, we anticipate strong growth, driven by innovation and strong talent development.

" N. R. Narayana Murthy let anyone oppose him but had a very clear rule that his decision was final," says Infosys Ex CFO Mohandas Pai.
This statement reflects Mr. Murthy's leadership style in two contrasting perspectives.
On one hand,
Allowing opposition indicates a willingness to hear different perspectives, fostering a more inclusive environment where team members feel their opinions are valued. This can lead to creativity and innovation.
Additionally, having a rule that the final decision rests with the leader ensures that debates and discussions do not lead to paralysis by analysis.
It provides a clear endpoint to discussions, which is crucial for timely and effective decision-making.
This leadership style combines democratic input with autocratic decision-making, offering the best of both worlds.
Team members influence the decision, while the leader ensures decisive action.
On the other hand,
If the leader's decisions are always final, the allowance for opposition might be perceived as merely symbolic.
Team members may feel that their input does not genuinely affect outcomes, which could lead to disengagement and a lack of trust in leadership.
Knowing that the final decision lies solely with the leader might discourage team members from fully voicing their concerns or presenting alternative viewpoints.
They might feel that opposing the leader is futile, leading to a lack of genuine debate and potential groupthink.
The clear rule that the leader's decision is final can edge towards autocracy.
It centralizes power in one individual, which might lead to decisions that are not fully informed by the collective intelligence and expertise of the group.
The effectiveness of this leadership approach depends on the context and the leader's ability to genuinely consider opposing viewpoints before making a final decision.
In environments where swift decisions are critical, such as in crises, this approach might be beneficial.
However, in more collaborative settings, it could undermine team morale and stifle the diversity of thought.
What's your take on this statement as an entrepreneur?

Romal Shetty, CEO, Deloitte South Asia, and Debasish Mishra, Partner and Chief Growth Officer, Deloitte South Asia, spoke to Outlook Business in an insightful Coalesce book launch highlighting that #Coalesce leaders anticipate significant business growth in the next three to five years, with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework playing a pivotal role.
Romal expressed, “Coalesce stands as an industry-first initiative, uniting industry leaders, ecosystem providers, and alliances under one platform to envision and design-think the future.”
Adding to this, Debasish said, "No single organisation can effectively tackle all challenges alone. In recognising the role of India’s service sector in our economy, I see firsthand how issues such as labour intensity and skills mismatch impede productivity. Yet, when we come together in a vibrant environment, synergy ignites innovative ideas, enabling us to collectively address these challenges.”
It is time to collaborate and successfully navigate the challenges in an ever-changing and volatile world. It's all about exploring the #ArtofThePossible.
