Personalization should never be limited to marketing comms. Personalization is not simply slapping names on emails or even tailoring messages to customers segmented by demographics/firmographics. Its more than that. True personalization is about the entire user experience. It transcends channels and should reinforce the same messaging based on product usage and lifecycle stage. If you promote a product in an email, that’s that same messaging should be reflected when the user visits or logs into your site. They shouldn’t have to navigate to find it or see messages about unrelated products. Personalization takes into account user behavior to ensure highly relevant messaging and CTAs. Crazy to see that billion dollar companies still don’t get this right. It’s hard and expensive. But that’s where we’re headed. How do you integrate personalization between product and marketing? ps.
