What is it that caught our attention in this report❓ 🔎 It highlights the progress being made to deliver $1.7 billion to secure land tenure and support forest guardianship for Indigenous people and local communities. Many of these groups continue to struggle to access funds directly due to donors’ risk aversion and administration requirements and the limited legal and financial infrastructure of the grantees. 🌳Building infrastructure that transparently directs finance to IPs and LCs is critical in order to overcome these challenges and ensure that they benefit from the protection and restoration activities that occur on their lands. Terrapect is part of the movement building this infrastructure with a focus on ensuring carbon markets deliver equitable and transparent funding to local communities.
