Deep in the Thames Tunnel… Recently, our asset examiner, James Negus was on-site in the historic Thames Tunnel for an inspection. It’s not just about maintenance, it’s about protecting a piece of engineering history that keeps London moving daily. Inspections like these help spot issues early, keeping this vital infrastructure safe, reliable, and standing strong for generations. But for James Negus, this inspection came with an unusual twist: “Being alone in the tunnel was surreal—it’s not every day you’re in a space that’s both so historic and eerily quiet!” 😅 #infrastructure #infrastructuremaintenance #tunnelinspection #assetmaintenance #assetmanagement #physicalassetmanagement #thamestunnel

The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) is replacing the station’s existing pedestrian bridge with an ADA-compliant tunnel to make its two platforms and parking areas more accessible for Metrolink and Amtrak passengers. SCRRA’s team will also reconstruct existing parking areas to improve pedestrian safety and means of egress, make landscaping improvements, and more. As part of our on-call contract with SCRRA, Hill is providing project management support and design review services for the project, helping to confirm compliance with SCRRA’s and regulatory requirements, mitigate construction risk, reduce the impact of construction on railway operations, and promote budget and schedule success.
