Earlier today, TSA Deputy Administrator Holly Canevari and TSA leaders joined the #IdentityWeekAmerica 2024 conference on national security, digital transformation in travel, and emerging threats and challenges. “The traveling public is moving at a pace never before seen in our nearly 23-year history, and identity management remains a lynchpin in transportation security,” said DADM Canevari. Thank you to our partners at today’s event. It’s through our collaborative partnerships across the transportation and security sectors that we thrive.

So many industrial sites should be using this affordable solution for their perimeter lighting. Besides safety and security it may also increase production in yards where staff are staging in those early morning hours. Less expensive then you may think and even more affordable to install.
In 2016, despite significant investments in #airport perimeter security, unauthorized intruders continue to breach U.S. airport #fences at an alarming rate. 👉 According to an Associated Press investigation, these breaches occur approximately once every 10 days. While some officials argue that not all incidents should be labeled as security breaches, the data reveals that intruders have successfully penetrated secure areas. ✔️ Whether scaling barbed wire-topped fences or bypassing vehicle #checkpoints, vigilance and improvements in #AirportSecurity protocols remain crucial. Do you think the numbers changed since 2016? Or have they gotten worse? https://lnkd.in/ehjsnemf #perimetersecurity #securitybreach #secureourborders

Ensuring the safety of maritime #criticalinfrastructure from cyber threats is incredibly important because it plays a huge role in global trade, transportation, and keeping us safe. Think about all the ports, terminals, ships, and systems involved in moving goods and people worldwide - they're all part of this ecosystem. Should anything disrupt them, it could have a major impact on supply chains, international trade, even putting maritime safety and national security at risk. Plus, since maritime infrastructure is connected to other important sectors like #energy and #telecommunications, any cyberattacks could have even bigger consequences. That's why at Lastwall, our identity platform has been uniquely designed to meet and exceed strict compliance requirements with a security-first approach, specifically safeguarding critical infrastructure. #postquantumcryptography #IDaaS #zerotrustsecurity CyberScoop

Public assets are integral to the functioning of any nation. From government buildings to infrastructure hubs, these assets are vital to a country’s operations and public services. Given their importance, ensuring the highest level of security is a priority. One of the most effective and visible measures to protect these public assets is the implementation of advanced security gates designed for government use. These gates serve as the first line of defense, securing entry points and deterring unauthorized access, vandalism, and terrorism. But what makes these security gates so essential, and how do they meet the unique challenges of protecting public infrastructure? Let’s dive deeper into why advanced security gates are a critical component in safeguarding public assets and how they are tailored for government use... 🔖 Learn more by clicking the "Read More" button below! 📌 Service & Installation are limited to DC, MD, VA, PA, DE, NJ, NY, WV & NC . #CustomGates #CustomGatesUS #SecuritySolutions #CustomizedGates #DMVGates #CustomGatesAndFences #MainGateSecuritySystem #CommercialGate #ResidentialGate #GovernmentProject #SecuritySolutions

A pretty good view of the air traffic at the start of the #Olympics on Friday. You can see where the area surrounding #Paris has completely shut down the airspace and the heavy traffic surrounding it is a mixture of security jets, planes used to evacuate VIPs if something happened and tankers which can refuel the planes in the air if needed. As this was the first modern Olympics to hold the opening ceremony on a river, running through the centre of a city, the #security considerations were hugely complex. Really interesting to see a snippet of the physical and #cybersecurity considerations that are being taken, based on mountains of #threatintelligence. Even with this level of detail, malicious actors will look for weaknesses in the chain, such as the arson attacks against the rail lines, right before the opening ceremony kicked off.

Craning for Security: Biden's Initiative Safeguards U.S. Ports Against Cyber Threats President Biden recently unveiled an initiative aimed at bolstering the cybersecurity of U.S. ports, allocating over $20 billion to U.S. port infrastructure over the next five years. This significant investment seeks to improve maritime cybersecurity, reinforce supply chains, and enhance the U.S. industrial base. The primary focus lies in securing digital systems supporting maritime operations against potential cyber threats, which could adversely affect the economy and national security. Moreover, the initiative intends to promote domestic production of cranes through partnerships with trusted manufacturing companies like PACECO CORP., a U.S.-based subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. E&S Co., Ltd. A considerable portion of Ship-to-shore cranes are currently manufactured in China, raising concerns regarding potential security vulnerabilities due to their advanced sensors and remote control capabilities. Notably, cranes produced by China-based manufacturer ZPMC dominate the U.S. market, boasting approximately 70% global market share and 80% within the U.S. These cranes are equipped with sensors capable of tracking container origins and destinations, sparking apprehensions that China could exploit them to gather intelligence on shipped goods, including military equipment, and potentially disrupt port operations remotely. The apprehensions outlined above are not unfounded, as there are conceivable scenarios wherein such exploits could occur. Firstly, a malicious actor could gain unauthorized access to the control systems of a Chinese-made crane remotely, allowing them to instigate a shutdown, thus disrupting container handling operations and impeding the flow of goods at the port. Secondly, by exploiting vulnerabilities in the crane's control software, a hacker could manipulate container movements during loading or unloading processes. This manipulation could result in containers being misplaced, delayed, or even intentionally misrouted, leading to logistical chaos and cargo handling delays. These security concerns surrounding Chinese-made cranes have prompted thorough investigations and discussions at the national security level. Notably, the Defence Intelligence Agency conducted an analysis in 2021, suggesting that China could exploit these cranes to throttle port traffic or gather intelligence on military shipments. However, despite these apprehensions, there have been no reported security breaches attributed to Chinese-made cranes at U.S. ports, according to the American Association of Port Authorities. #cyberattack #cyberthreats #biden #china #marineindustry #maritimesecurity #maritimetechnology
