Transportation Security Administration (TSA)’s Post

✈️ Are you traveling soon? You may notice new facial recognition technology at our checkpoints. Here's why this is a game-changer: ✅ Quick Verification: We are using second-generation Credential Authentication Technology (CAT-2) scanners as travelers enter the screening process. ✅ Enhanced Security: We ensure accuracy by comparing your live photo with your ID, ensuring a secure travel experience. ✅ Your Choice: This is completely voluntary. Travelers can choose to opt-out. If you opt-out, you will not lose your place in line and there will be no issue and no delay. ✅ Privacy Assured: Rest easy knowing TSA prioritizes privacy with secure handling of facial images. Facial recognition technology is used to automate the current manual ID credential checking process and will not be used for any law enforcement purpose. Want to learn more? More government control over our lives. Now they will have facial recognition profiles on innocent Americans.

Why even have it or any other scan devices if people can “opt out?” What’s the point…other that creating one more level of delay for those flying? Technology like this Seems counterintuitive! Think about it….who is trying to hijack planes in the 21st century? No one - more are hijacking computers & technology like this - used for facial recognition - to steal identities and data!

I am sure if you choose to opt-out, you will be asked to verify your identity using your driver's license ID, for example.

Glad to see TSA adopt this technology. It's been a long time coming.
