🌟 Celebrating #ComputerScienceEducation Week! 🌟 As we reflect on the exciting developments in the world of tech, let’s revisit the insightful presentation by Jaishree Ranganathan, Lisa Swart, and Sam Zaza on the role of AI in the Classroom. 🤖📚 How do we prepare students and educators for a future dominated by AI? Here are some key takeaways: 🔹 AI can enhance teaching and learning 🔹 Industries are increasingly seeking candidates with AI expertise 🔹 AI integration requires ethical considerations, thoughtful planning, and constant adaptation 🔹 AI is here to stay! But with new technology comes new challenges: ⚠️ Energy consumption of data centers ⚠️ Academic integrity risks ⚠️ Data privacy concerns ⚠️ Historical context distortion ⚠️ Rise of misinformation (deepfakes) ⚠️ Copyright issues So, how do we move forward with AI? In 2022, Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) launched an #AI initiative focused on policy, pedagogy, and research. It’s a proactive approach to navigating the AI landscape. 🔍 Should other institutions take a similar path? #AIinEducation #TechForGood #AIethics #EdTech #AIeducation #FutureofLearning #HigherEd #AIInnovation

"The future of teaching is here, and it's more exciting than ever! 🌏 I just concluded the CENTA Global Teachers' Meet, where we explored the transformative power of AI in education. From personalized learning to innovative assessment strategies, AI offers unprecedented opportunities to enhance student outcomes. But with great potential comes great responsibility. How do we ensure that AI is used ethically and equitably? How do we prepare our students to thrive in a world shaped by technology? These were just a few of the thought-provoking questions we tackled at the conference. A special thanks to @CENTATeachers and the incredible facilitators, including Dilip Thakore, Dr. Padma, Tiffany Taylor, Lliana Nadi, Ravi Venkatesan, Alim Ladha, Retd. Col. Gopal, Rahul Patel, Dr. Yuhyun Park, and many others, for creating such a vibrant and inspiring community. Together, we're shaping the future of education, one classroom at a time. #education #futureofteaching #AI #teachers #globalcommunity"

Today in Technology for Learners (EDUC 281) we were visited by Jessica Ann, the Manager of the AI Tinkery, which is part of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning and is hosted at Stanford University Graduate School of Education. The AI Tinkery is a brand new collaborative space for members from across the university to play and tinker with the possibilities of generative AI in education. Every week in class we look at a different technology, get a chance to use it hands on, and discuss the affordances and challenges around the tech. Jessica guided students around the new Stanford AI Playground (https://lnkd.in/gB_kmG_z), which is open to faculty, staff and students and gives access to different gen AI models and lets them explore some deeper subjects like using plugins, creating custom chatbots and comparing models. It was great to see how students responded to using the AI Playground, and how gen AI models and custom chatbots could be useful for their final class project of doing an Analysis of a Learning Tool. Thanks Jessica for joining class! https://lnkd.in/gbCiiivx #genai #edtech

Watch Ep. 8: https://lnkd.in/eX4KvKjk Continuing with Part 2 (Blog 1) of a fascinating conversation with Daithí Ó Murchú, we explore the sweeping impact that technological singularity could have on education. As AI begins to reshape the classroom, the question arises: how will this transformation influence the development of young minds? On one hand, AI brings incredible tools to personalize learning, support educators, and enhance resource allocation, all pointing to a future of unprecedented educational potential. Yet, as we enter this era, there’s equal cause for caution. The “digital divide” threatens to widen, privacy concerns loom, and over-reliance on AI risks sidelining core aspects of human connection and organic development. In discussing “HumAInology,” we ponder models where AI complements rather than controls, empowering educators to focus on mentorship, critical thinking, and creativity. But we ask, how can this future be shaped if educators aren’t integral to AI’s design from the ground up? As we prepare students for an AI-driven world, ethical considerations, collaborative models, and adaptive skills will be crucial.
