As I travel throughout Maseru, I cannot help but notice how the population has dropped. I know there were mass layoffs last year and in every village, there is unoccupied rental space. Does that mean we have excess housing? No. It is a reflection of how poorly we are performing economically. Question is, with the existing unoccupied rental spaces, how can they be used to address the need for adequate housing? That sounds crazy but hopefully it generates a thought on how we can manage the housing issues we are currently faced with. The idea is to create an environment that makes tomorrow better, today.
