“Get a job with a good benefits package.” What does that even mean anymore? Okay so your job provides a 401k, health insurance, dental and vision. Co-pays for health insurance are still high for many Americans, and since the switch from defined benefit to defined contribution many Americans are not on pace for retirement. When we make the benefits package at work about taking what is given to us versus simplifying our options to to make a decision easier, we sell outselves short. Friendly reminder that it is a service from your job to offer these things, navigating the marketplace on your own can be exhausting.
