PLD Space awarded PERTE contract to develop space launcher for 40.5 million euros The Spanish aerospace company PLD Space has won the second phase of the project for the development of a Spanish launcher for small satellites, framed within the Aerospace PERTE (Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation), which has a tender amount of 40.5 million euros. The company has been appointed as sole contractor, having earned the highest technical rating from the Contracting Committee, which consists of independent experts from the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI). This PERTE Aerospace initiative, promoted by the Spanish government, aims to cultivate a strategic national asset: access to space. To fulfil this ambition, the contract mandates that the selected bidder must design, construct, and conduct testing on an orbital launcher flight unit by 2025. The project is managed through the pre-commercial public procurement (PCP) instrument of the CDTI, which operates on a counter-performance format, requiring the reimbursement of the received amount. This repayment will be made through the payment of royalties during the first 10 years of its commercial phase, scheduled to commence in 2026. #Space #Technology #Spain #Rocket https://lnkd.in/eADHXq3J

Congratulations to ArianeGroup, CNES and the European Space Agency - ESA on the successful maiden flight of the Ariane 6 launcher! In keeping with the tradition of the Ariane 5 launcher, the Ariane 6 is also relying on the SPARC processor architecture. This time our LEON2FT processor technology is flying as part of TTTech’s radiation tolerant TTEthernet Switch and End-System Controller HiRel devices. The LEON2FT enabled TTEthernet devices are integrated into more than 50 avionic units handling functions such as computing, power distribution or thrust-vector actuation which all connect to a single, redundant TTEthernet network, the launcher’s nervous system. #leon2ft #sparc #spacecomputing https://lnkd.in/daebPgej

We are introducing new solid-state devices that can replace mechanical relays. Using these solid-state latching relays is a good alternative to traditional mechanical or magnetic latching relays in circuits without a supply voltage. Importantly, these solid-state latching relays do not need a supply voltage to stay in their latched state. In space applications, they're the backbone of spacecraft systems, handling critical tasks effortlessly. With features like rapid response times, low leakage current, and high resistance ... Our SSRs are primed for the most demanding missions in space and aerospace. 🛰️ If you would like free access to our editorial… Comment ‘Editorial’ below.

Pierre Godart thanks for the nice discussion during the panel at the BDI Space Night. Even when the delivering of Ariane 6 is taking more time than planed. I believe ArianeGroup has a very important role to play on shaping the building of transport and logistic capabilities for European space industry. I am interested in challenging the adoption of made in Europe technologies that have the potential to enable the creation of new markets. The use of high power electric propulsion (20kW or more) to enhance third stage “last mile payload delivery capabilities with improved payload capacity could be a response to the question of how to make space more sustainable.

The role of avionics sub-system management in ensuring spacecraft performance and reliability.🚀 Every component, every system, plays a vital role in its success. But what ensures that these components work seamlessly together, delivering optimal performance and reliability❓ It's the intricate process of overseeing and coordinating the various electronic systems that control and monitor a spacecraft's functions. From navigation and communication to propulsion and life support, avionics sub-systems are the backbone of space exploration. 1) Key Roles of Avionics Sub-System Management:👇 💠System Integration 💠Performance Optimization 💠Fault Detection and Isolation 💠Data Management 2) The Importance of Reliability:💡 In the unforgiving environment of space, reliability is paramount. A single failure can jeopardize an entire mission. Avionics sub-system management plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of spacecraft systems by implementing redundancy, fault tolerance, and rigorous testing procedures. As space exploration continues to advance, the importance of avionics sub-system management will only grow. 🤝Let’s Connect❗ ♻️Repost #Avionics #Spacecraft #AerospaceEngineering #Technology #Innovation

Within the past 48 hours, SDA hit another milestone achievement: successfully demonstrating an optical communications network between two satellites (in under 100 seconds and maintaining comms for hours). Tranche 0: ✅ Link 16 from space (incl. to USN carrier & aircraft) ✅ Missile tracking from LEO ✅ Laser communications between satellites The Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) is only just beginning and already doing what many said were impossible on timelines that seemed impossible. #sempercitius https://lnkd.in/edQaDgeD
