Congratulations Emine Suong, RN, North 4, on earning a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. A patient nominated her, writing: "Emmy went above and beyond her calling, sensing my fears about my condition, perhaps, making my comfort and pain management a priority, making sure I knew the nature and purpose of my new routines, making me feel like my feelings matter, like the nurse in charge of my care had a personal stake in my recovery." #NursingExcellence #DaisyAward #TuftsMedicineNurses

Nurse Wellbeing Consultant & Sabbatical Coach | Championing Well-being, Self-Care, and Career Fulfillment for Nurses
What a thought-provoking perspective for Nurses Week! Kaija Freborg DNP-TCN, RN, NC-BC underscores the vital importance of self-care and self-compassion in nursing. "We allow the voices of others and their needs to drown out our own—to the point that we may even struggle to identify our own needs or sense of self. Who am I, if I am not a care giver?" As Nurse's Week is nearing the end, let's take time to give ourselves space to explore how we can give ourselves space to "dissolve our perfectionism" and " embrace our flaws and vulnerability." #nursesonlinkedin #nurseburnoutprevention #thenursesabbatical

In a hospital emergency unit, patients may find themselves without their loved ones. Nurses become their main source of comfort. This is just one aspect of patient-centred care that has been proven to have positive clinical outcomes. The emergency unit can be quite an intense environment, for both nurse and patient. However, nurses show enormous courage and strength – physically and mentally – in order to provide the highest quality care. Find out more about how we empower our nurses, allowing them to fulfill their potential and live out their passion: https://lnkd.in/dXVPr-fH #MakingLifeBetter #NursesForLife

Today we will be hosting an educational webinar, Compassion Fatigue: A Nurse’s Story presented by Cynthia Hammond, PhD, MHE, MSN, RN. This presentation is an overview of a root cause analysis of an internal unrest among nurses. The truth of the unrest developed as a result of nurses only focusing their care on toward the patient. A wholistic focus needs to encompass our profession. We as nurses need to be aware of the internal history of our development as a nursing profession. This knowledge will better prepare as a nurses to enhance our internal structure and be better caregivers. Caregiving should start with the nurse, extend to our nurse- peer then together care for the patient. Cynthia has developed a passion to state the problem and provide solutions for solving the problem. This is the foundation of nurse-caring. Register at https://lnkd.in/eYtRuKg
