Direct instruction is based on the needs of students. If students are struggling with letter recognition or phonemic awareness, or have any other needs then of course small group, individual direct instruction may be required. This new mandate around direct instruction in New South Wales assumes that every child in the same grade level needs the same level instruction at the same time. That they have the exact same current understanding, knowledge or skills at any one moment. Which any teachers knows is not the case, learning is complex and students learn at different rates and in different ways. Direct instruction in this situation is seen as a one size fits all and does not take into consideration this complexity, individual needs and experiences or the importance of challenging all students. https://lnkd.in/g7ZYjfBt

What does it take to be a good teacher? Throughout my years of experience (which are not as many as you may think), I have taught many people and be taught by several teachers. However, I have come to the realization that this profession is more difficult than what society depicts through media. Being a teachers means giving therapy to your students before every session yo understand their mood. It means giving your best and taking the best out of your pupils. Being a teacher is motivating and encouraging others to explore areas you will never get to know. Being a teachers is like being a child who enjoys every second of a game that others call "class". Being a teacher is cherishing the moments you spend with your students because you know you are creating a better future for them and everyone else in this world. Being a teacher means being the person you needed the most.

List Of Grammar Schools Grammar schools are academically-oriented secondary schools, one among the three types of schools forming the Tripartite System. This is the first nationwide system of state-funded secondary education in England and Wales, created under the 1944 Education Act and was later echoed by the Education (Northern Ireland) Act 1947.
