We made a splash in Palm Desert over the weekend at the Interscope Records & Capitol Records Coachella Party, an exclusive private event attended by festival artists, VIPs, and executives. We showed up with an exclusive #TUMIGolf putting experience, showcasing our commitment to innovative design, high-performance materials and effortless travel. Guests had a chance to show off their golf skills, and players walked away with pieces from the golf collection. Seven lucky players got a hole-in-one and walked away with a TUMI golf stand bag. This experience plays into our continued expansion into the world of sports. Stay tuned for more exciting moments to come later this year.

Timeless legends come very rarely. But when they do, they inspire countless generations, for a long time to come. There is a simplicity and universality in their values, which is very endearing to the society. At SRT Sports, we have the honour of representing Sachin Tendulkar. Our endeavour is simple - to be the bridge and connect like-minded partners with Sachin Tendulkar. Link to the article: https://lnkd.in/d_YTnSVS

Love the originality of this partnership, quite unexpected and especially unique in Rugby. Two very different campaigns, with very similar marketing objectives, uniting with a common goal in a one-off partnership. 👨👨👧👦 - Target Audiences Both Quins and 20th Century Studios will be targeting the same audience to a) attend their flagship summer rugby match and b) watch the new Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes movie. 🗓️ - Campaign Timeline With Harlequins’ “Big Summer Kick Off” matchday taking place on Saturday 27th April, and 20th Century Studios’ release of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes releasing on 9th May - both parties are speaking to the same audience at the same time - why not combine and double the efforts? 🤝🏼 - Brand Parallels The “Together Strong” slogan, combined with the movie storyline draws great parallels of those of a rugby team. Team cohesion, physicality and pride are just some of the consistent brand values that can be leveraged in market activation. 🤩 - Disruptive Content The digital marketing world is fiercely competitive and everybody is fighting for visibility. This partnership has the ability to disrupt and cut through if executed effectively. Hats off to all at Harlequins and 20th Century Studios for being brave enough to upset the status quo, I really hope this partnership works and becomes a case study for more brilliant industry crossovers in sports. 🃏🦍🎬 What do you think? 👇🏼
Today Harlequins have confirmed a new collaboration with 20th Century Studios to promote their blockbuster movie ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ at Big Summer Kick-Off on Saturday 27 April at Twickenham Stadium. Teaming up for Big Summer Kick-Off, Harlequins and ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ will activate a range of exciting activations to promote the film and support Quins’ showpiece summer match against table toppers Northampton Saints in front of 60,000 rugby fans. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is in UK cinemas on Thursday 9 May. Sometimes, the biggest losers do win! Linkedin is perhaps not the best place to review movies or sport but I guess it is a good forum to share what inspires you. So here goes. In a week that saw the Oscars Awards and the celebration of cinematic winners, I was paradoxically moved not by “Oppenheimer”, or “Barbie” or other movies that were loudly celebrated on the global stage, but a lovely little movie called “Next Goal Wins”, that I caught on a recent Singapore Airlines flight. About the American Samoan soccer team. The historical claim to sporting fame or rather, notoriety that America Samoa holds, is the fact that they hold the record for the most number of goals scored against them in a World Cup Qualifier, when they went down 31-0 (that is not a typo – it was Thirty One-Zero!) against the Australian Socceroos in 2001. “Next Goal Wins” takes us through a delightful and gently humorous journey, based on a true story, of how this small nation of American Samoa chooses to put this ignominy behind and sets itself a goal of scoring at least one goal at a World Cup qualifier. And there begins the journey to find a suitable coach, (or any coach) put together a team, and pull themselves up to a level of game-play that allows them to shed the tag of “Biggest Loser”. And what a human story indeed, involving a flawed but authentic coach, the goalkeeper who suffered the 31-0 loss, the world’s first transgender footballer to play in a World Cup qualifier, a community that comes to a daily halt to observe their beliefs and traditions, and what it might really mean to win, and be happy in the process. The best part is, the story is based on true events. And the people involved are real. In a culture where we constantly celebrate winners, sometimes it’s the stories of the losers that hold the deepest lessons. Especially those losers who turn around and redefine winning. PS : If you were a fan of “Cool Runnings”, the story of the Jamaican Bobsled team, you’ll certainly love “Next Goal Wins”; Michael Fassbender is awesome as the coach :)

5 years of dedication that survived through Covid pandemic, hard work, team efforts, research and development, conferences, and publications, physical and virtual team meetings, sub-chapter meetings and many many more hours spent have shaped up this guideline. I have been a Chapter lead and we could not have made this a success without the support from our Chairman, the sub-team and feedback and support received from the wider working group. Also grateful for the feedback received from other organisations and individuals. Grateful for the support received in organising the most members attended meeting in the UK. My highlight through the WG211 journey indeed! Proud to have been part of PIANC WG211 - Guidelines for the Design of Fender Systems working group. Proud to have been representing the United Kingdom. Most importantly proud to have been the only woman in the working group who had the privilege of working with 26 such great and respected gentlemen. #wg211 #piancuk #pianc #aecom #delft #wavesgroup #rhdhv #portofrotterdam #portofdover #britishstandards #bs6349 #cdit #lloydsregister #ocimf #trelleborg #shibata #portofvalencia #portofhamburg #fenders #maritime #institutionofcivilengineers #uk #teamwork #researchanddevelopment #publication #netherlands #china #southkorea #australia #spain #germany #usa #southafrica #womeninengineering #guidelines #srilanka #portsandterminals #materialsengineering #navigation #ships #harbours #sustainability #lifecycle #p&oferries

https://lnkd.in/e5uUFeDg Oilstainlab this is a seriously cool video. For those that don't know the story, they created an alternate timeline Porsche, one that only existed in their imagination. Then went and built a real one that creates all of the imagined spectacle, drama and badassery. Follow the link and join in the fun. #automotivedesign #productdesign
Oilstainlab on Instagram: "The road to @24heuresdumontauk. An epic event needs and epic roadtrip. The Oilstainlab crew decided to take the name literally, trying to cover the same distance with their Half11 as the winner of the 1968 24 hours of Le Mans race did. Their challenge? 3000 miles from Los Angeles to New York, right to the starting line of the 24 Heures du Montauk. Part Myth, Part Porsche

Hosting opening and closing ceremonies for a sporting event such as the Olympic Games can have both pros and cons. Here are a few to consider: Pros: 1. **Create a memorable experience**: Opening and closing ceremonies can set the tone for the entire event and create a memorable experience for attendees. 2. **Build excitement**: Ceremonies can build excitement and anticipation, generating buzz and interest in the event. 3. **Showcase talent**: They provide an opportunity to showcase local talent, culture, and creativity to a wider audience. 4. **Promote unity**: Ceremonies can promote unity and a sense of community among attendees, creating a shared experience. 5. **Celebrate achievements**: Closing ceremonies can be a way to celebrate the achievements and successes of the event, participants, and organizers. Cons: 1. **Cost**: Hosting elaborate opening and closing ceremonies can be expensive, requiring significant financial resources. 2. **Logistics**: Planning and executing ceremonies can be complex and time-consuming, requiring coordination of various elements like performers, equipment, logistics and security. 3. **Attendee engagement**: Depending on the length and format of the ceremonies, some attendees may find them tedious or lose interest, affecting engagement. 4. **Weather dependency**: Outdoor ceremonies are subject to weather conditions, which can impact the experience and logistics. 5. **Resource allocation**: Resources spent on ceremonies may detract from other important aspects of the event, such as programming, facilities, or services. Considering these pros and cons can help in deciding what to consider in order to host an opening and closing ceremonies aligning with the overall goals and priorities of the sporting event.

In the world of major sports events, is there still a value in delivering a multi-million pound Opening Ceremony. Have we lost sight of the purpose of these events and is it time for LOCs to be bold and have a rethink? With event organisers looking at new financially sustainable models and declining linear broadcast numbers, you have to question if a 90-minute show is still the way forward. I'd be interested in hearing about ways in which LOCs adopt a digital first approach to showcasing the culture and art of a host city in a more cost effective and impactful way. #majorevents #olympics #commonwealthgames #IOC #commonwealthgamesfederation
