Tunnel Engineering’s Post

The demolition of outstanding detonators in a tunnel is generally not allowed based on regulations due to the confined space, which significantly increases the risk of structural damage, entrapment, and uncontrolled explosions. Regulations typically require detonations to occur in open or specifically designed and controlled environments to ensure maximum safety and containment of the blast. Exceptions might exist only under stringent conditions and with specific safety measures and approvals from relevant authorities. We have covered the drill and blast method along with all other tunnelling methods in our Online Tunnel Engineering course. Register for the course today and elevate your knowledge and skill. Thank you for your message. I have been working with explosives and detonators for almost 40 years. The most important thing in this job is the absolutely safe handling. Every explosives technician has learnt this and should apply it.
