Using the example of a vacuum gripper on a handling tool that forms part of a bodywork press, we show you that this does not have to be the case. The SIRIUS 3SK1111-1AB30 safety relay from Siemens is used for the monitoring of safety-related circuits. The base module has three NC contacts as enabling current paths, as well as an auxiliary contact, and can be controlled on either a single channel or two channels. It offers a functional display and is protected against cross-wire short circuits. The SIRIUS 3SK1111-1AB30 safety relay with a supply voltage of 24 V AC/DC is connected via plug-in screw terminals and can be mounted on a DIN35 rail. As a contact expansion, the safety relay is approved up to PLe.
